To be honest, I wasn’t expecting these to be as hardy as they are, these gauntlets have a great weight to them. Good quality metal and leather glove insert, glad to see they were oiled prior to receiving. Not the most comfortable glove (they’re not meant for comfort, after all), slightly larger than expected (even when strapped all the way down), and the straps are different browns on each gauntlet (probably due to oil). For the more serious cosplayers; you WILL need assistance putting them on and getting them off with the straps, and don’t expect to be able to hold much or have moderately decent dexterity with your fingers. ... show more

I used this for the ren fair a few months ago. They are comfortable. Basically welding gloves with the metal plates riveted in place. Unfortunately mid way of the fair my left gloves leather started to tear from the rivets. Didn't last 6 hours but again, it was used the whole time, except when eating of course. Gave for Xmas gift. He loved them. Put them on right away and kept them on lol. I can't say too much right now as far as lasting but these are metal! Not plastic or rubber, etc, metal! A think cloth glove like fitting is what you hand slides into. Theres a belt like fixtures that tighten n loosen to keep the fit in n comfortable. You aren't wearing a glove though- your fingers are in this the tiered metal finger plates and you can curl your hands into a fist form no problem. My son is about 5'11 w big hands and these fit him no problem. Ill update with more info as I find it out ... show more

The actual metal work and armor parts of this product are fine; it's how it's attached to the glove that gave me some issue. The right gauntlet was actually perfect, but the left was the problem child. The armor part was off center a bit, leading to noticeable asymmetry when both are on. Because of this, the left thumb plates are about an inch away from the rest of the "main" metal plates, making it a bit awkward and loose (on the right one, the thumb plates slide neatly under the design). Also, if I had to make a guess, the metal was attached to the left glove in a way that the glove was "bunched up," making the rivets on the knuckles improperly spaced, and lead to some initial tearing I noticed out of the box. Once I tried to slide it on, my hand put it under too much stress, and the rivet near the thumb ripped out, taking a dime sized chunk out of the knuckle and leaving it partially detached. I was able to temporarily fix it for my party, but I'm not sure what to do for future long term use... Overall I'm not upset, and they still look great, but if the left glove was just as good as the right, I'd be A LOT happier. As of now, it's a 3.5/5, which I'll round to a 4 unless further complications occur. ... show more

    • Real armored gauntlets
I used these gauntlets for an over the top Halloween costume where I dressed in a full suit of armor. The gloves fit well and are very comfortable (also keep your hands warm). From the tip of my middle finger to where my hand meets my wrist, measures 8 inches. and with fingers closed my hand measures about 4 inches. If your hands measure similarly, then the gauntlets should fit fine (but mind you, there is enough room to fit a variety of hand sizes.). The leather straps could use an extra hole or two to fit the gauntlets more tightly, but that's an easy fix. A word of caution: This is real armor and can hurt you and others. The metal can be sharp if touched the wrong way, but this is an external caution. When wearing the gloves, you are well protected, but be aware of others around you. The metal is the real deal: hard and sturdy. Overall, this is fantastic armor for the money and will work for a realistic knight costume. ... show more

I wasn't expecting much from $80 gauntlets, however the gloves inside the Gauntlets are different lengths. The rivets are applied asymmetrically, the steel is attached in different places in each gauntlet. They do look cool though the metal work is very nice, and once you have them on you feel like a knight about to duel, and that's really fun. However Multiple rivets popped, without even coming into contact with anything, just buy me putting them on I popped a rivet. I've made a few easy fixes so I'm satisfied with them , but these didn't come to me put together too well. If the placement of the rivets we're better, and maybe actually planned out these would get 5 stars for that alone. Wouldn't use these for sparring out of the box, but with some modifications they'd be useful for that. TLDR: Each gauntlet is different in how it fits, how much wrist mobility you have, and in how they were assembled. But they're cool, and fun the wear. ... show more
