Centuries ago, the same wizard that granted Billy Batson the powers of Shazam!, bestowed mystical powers upon a pure-of-heart youth in ancient Egypt. But when the boy tried to share his power to save his dying uncle, his uncle stole it and became the legendary Super-Villain known as Black Adam! Black Adam has the same magical abilities as his Super Hero nemesis, Shazam!, but Adam's powers come from the Egyptian gods. Shu grants him stamina; Heru, speed; Amon, strength; Zehuti, wisdom; Aton, power; and Mehen, courage. Black Adam can also fly and is virtually invincible.

This figure is excellent. A lot of attention to detail went into it. The face sculpt and head of Batman are very clear and expressive. The cape is full of folds and looks like the wind is really blowing it. There are realistic wrinkles and seams on it as well. It looks great. I like that it has the perfect length. It is not needed to help the figure stand up like with other figures. The suit is one of my favorites. I like the dark olive green color. It also has excellent details such as a built in armor-looking vest and stitching. The Bat symbol is one of the best looking ones on any Batman. It is original and sharp-looking. Well done, McFarlane. His utility belt is well done too. It even has a silver Batman symbol as the buckle. Looks great. The paint is well done and clear. Amazing. It looks like this Batman really works out his legs, lol. His quadriceps are well defined and muscular. Very rare look on a Batman figure and well done. The pants have cool lines that come down and show detail. The boots are awesome too. They have very well defined outsoles and have good traction. I even noticed they added a Bat symbol between the front feet and heel! Now that is true love for one's work. ... show more

Black Adam is poised to become DC Comics’ next breakout character on the silver screen due to the film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson hitting theaters this October. Thanks to McFarlane Toys, we are getting a slew of Black Adam action figures this year, including this Page Punchers version of the Wizard’s wayward warrior. This figure would be perfect if not for a slight misstep. Being part of the 7-inch Page Punchers series, the set revolves around Black Adam and even includes a Black Adam comic book from DC. The Black Adam figure is an updated version of the character, sporting more of an armored look, fitting of a character who possesses the powers of the Egyptian pantheon. The head sculpt is fantastic, as it captures the character’s comic book version. The textures and soft plastic armor are outstanding- the shoulder pads don’t hinder articulation. I think this is one of the best Black Adam figures ever to be released, and I owned the original DC Direct one way back when. I have been a fan of the character for a long time, especially the JSA run by Geoff Johns that showed just how thin the line is between a hero and a villain. This figure has one downside- he is tough to stand up. The molding on his feet makes it to where the figure doesn’t stand flush- otherwise, this would be the perfect Black Adam figure. Nonetheless, this is one of the best McFarlane Toys releases of the year and absolutely needs to be on your DC shelf. ... show more
