It comes vacuum sealed but once we took it out of the packaging and gave it a good fluff, it retained it shape pretty easily. There is zero assembly required which is always a plus. It is very sturdy and I think it will hold up well to the rough and tumble of a toddler boy, so its super kid friendly. The size is perfect for my almost three year old, comes vacuum sealed and took shape pretty quickly BUT you need to fluff it quite a bit while it’s expanding to get the best shape. IT IS FIRMNM!! I don’t know what I was expecting but it’s big cut up foam pieces inside that are hard and need to be rearranged to be comfortable but that probably helps keep its shape in the long run, I’m hoping it softens up since it’s brand new. The fabric is thick and seems to be very durable, gives it a good weight, not annoyingly heavy but my kid won’t be moving it around that’s for sure! This was perfect addition to our son's room as it provides a designated seating area, as well as something for him to play with, he enjoys climbing all over it! As I did have issues with stitching as well (I no longer have the pictures) all I did was contact the seller and they sent me a new one in the perfect amount of time. I didn't have to wait too long for the replacement at all. Although I do wish the cover was removable for easy washing. It is surface only. So every now and then I use a washcloth with a little bit of detergent and water to dilute and I do a quick wipe down every month. Not as expected. Very small, I would say the oldest age this works for is a 3 year old. It also had a funky smell and it was extremely stiff and my child complained it was not comfortable not very much seat room for bottom or for back.
