I had to get this so my ebike rack would fit my 1-1/4 inch receiver. I use (and recommend) a hitch tightener, which locks this extension in and eliminates rattling, wobbling, and twisting.

    • bike carrier now fits on a class 1 or class 2 hitch
most (if not all) bike carriers mount to 2"x2" hitch. our Honda Fit has a class 1 hitch (1.25"x1.25"). this will slip into the class 1 or class 2 hitch and allow you to mount the bike rack to it with no problems. you will need another hitch pin for the bike carrier (unless you already have one). please note: the bike carrier will stick farther out to the rear of the car because of this hitch adapter. ... show more

    • Storng but has play, will wobble
Great value but inserting into the vehicle receiver, then installing bike rack, between the male and female ends there is a lot of play and my bikes sway and wobble quite a bit. I've had tighter ones on exact setup. Overall it works and there's no risk of failure.
