I ordered this bed for my four year-old. The shipping was fast and the packaging was excellent—everything arrived well protected with no damaged pieces. The first thing I noticed was the color. From the online photos, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it’s WAY more beautiful in person than online. It’s a very pretty brown that would be easy to match and coordinate with other furniture pieces. The directions were not very clear, but with a little common sense and some trial and error, it wasn't too hard to figure out. I recommend loosely assembling everything first before fully tightening, as I did have to correct a couple of pieces along the way. I also used a drill for the slats. I was able to put it together by myself in about two hours. The height is perfect for my four-year-old, and so far the bed has been very sturdy. Really appreciate the solid wood construction along with a solid metal bar down the middle to provide extra support. The assembly was pretty straightforward and not too complicated. All the main parts are numbered with stickers and the stickers were placed where they would be mostly covered when fully assembled. I still took them off, but others might not feel the need to do so. There are a few parts that need to be screwed together where there was not a pre drilled hole. The instructions don't call for it, but I pre drilled to avoid any potential for cracking. You probably don't need to, I just didn't want to take a risk. It took around 2.5-3 hours to assemble it on my own with the "help" of my kids (8, 6). Without help it probably would have been only a little bit faster. After finishing it, I ( 210 pounds) sat on it and could feel the strength and stability difference from our old bed. Yes it's more expensive than other beds, but the durability of real wood (instead of MDF or particle board) as well as the metal bar down the middle give it a higher quality that I believe is well worth the cost. I am not worried that my kids will damage it so that I have to replace it in only a few years like I would fear with some of the other "cheaper" beds. The pros: This bed is lovely and good quality. It is very sturdy and I love that it doesn’t have middle legs. I like the high weight limit compared to other children’s beds. 400 lbs compared to 250 lb that we were getting dangerously close to reaching. Now I can sit with my child in bed for many years to come. Heck, our whole family could sit on the bed and only be 20ish lbs over the limit! Overall a good product for the price. The cons: there are a few places where the paint isn’t even and looks like you can see the wood through it, luckily it’s on the back of the headboard which is against the wall. The main con is the instructions. This takes a lot of using common sense to get put together. Many of the steps are avitally several steps being portrayed at once. Each step tells you which parts you’ll need but in the graphic of each step the parts are not labeled. There are a couple pieces that indicate which direction they need to go, but several that don’t that really need to. Luckily I only had 2 steps I had to redo and neither required too much undoing of previous steps, but if you weren’t paying close attention you might have a lot of redoing. ... show more

I bought two of these for my children as they were outgrowing their cribs. I originally wanted an IKEA bed I had looked into, but it was out of stock and I am very happy I happened upon these instead. The assemble was fairly easy, but I would say it's a near-necessity to have two people for it (I struggle to imagine how one person would be able to fit the slats into the two crossbeams for the headboard alone). Instructions were clear and it didn't take too long. The materials the manufacturer selected are fantastic. The bed feels incredible sturdy and I think it will stand up well to growing kids. There is a good amount of clearance under the bed for storage, or to recon and make sure no monsters have taken up residence before bedtime. I really am very happy with the beds and would highly recommend them to anyone. Great piece of furniture for the price! ... show more

We bought the single twin bed in natural. Shipping was quick. It was left outside our door on a rainy day but very well packaged because everything was dry inside. There was a small box inside that said it contained the hardware. It was empty, but I found another box that said the same thing and did have all the hardware, so nothing was missing. I think these 2 small boxes may have been necessary to fill empty space. Everything was neatly packed. The pieces had a small odor - partly from the wood itself and partly from the finish. We set them out for a few days before assembling and it went away. Assembly was simple. The large panel piece that goes at the foot of the bed had an edge that didn't look like solid wood. Maybe the manufacturer can explain that. Everything seems to be good quality and the bed is sturdy. The stickers show as in the picture, but I think this is a good value for the price - I think better than Ikea or non-solid wood beds for a similar price. If we put it next to the wall, there is almost a 3" gap between the mattress and wall because of the width of the side rail and headboard. Also, it is difficult to find safety rails for a bed without a boxspring. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered a bed with side rails and/or a daybed with a panel against the wall, something like the top half of the bunk bed. ... show more

The instructions are awful. And I’m someone who rolls their eyes when I read reviews like this. Read the instructions well. And then read them and look at the pictures three more times. Bed is dinged in a few places upon opening. Not worth the hassle of returning. Looks nice put together. Made out of good materials. But would not buy again. ... show more

ASSEMBLY ADVICE: Get a bottle of wood glue (4oz is plenty) and use it during assembly for the head and footboard assembly (both ends). Using it on the headend slats means that they don't clack around or make a noise as they are otherwise loose in their slots. Using it on every other joint & groove where you find 'bare wood' just makes it all extra sturdy. Don't use too much glue otherwise it will ooze out or drip, but you can wipe it off. This goes together really easily but do follow the instructions. I bought several so the first one took longer - the main thing is to ensure that everything goes the right way up and the right way round as several parts could go either way and you don't want to take it apart and flip it once you realise - and you can't if you've glued!. In particular, ensure that the central support bar is horizontal and right under the base slats. If it's at an angle, you've got the footboard piece upside down. Use an electric drill to fix the base slats. Everything else by hand. It should all take less than an hour to assemble. Note: This appears to be the same as another product under a different brand. I'd bought that one previously but it was out of stock so I bought this one instead and all parts seems to be identical. Search Amazon for B07Y5XTFC4 if this one is out of stock. One thing I didn't like is that they use styrofoam/polystyrene in the packaging which can't be recycling. I'm sure it's the best and the bed arrived in perfect condition but I'd prefer card or something else. ... show more
