I am very impressed with this bed. It is heavy and once it is put together is very well made. All the pieces of the bed are made up of solid wood. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble the entire bed. Make sure you take your time and do not lose any of your screws because there is no extra. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I like how each step was illustrated and in exact detail. Once built it is very stable and durable. My 4 year old son was thrilled with his big boy bed. The bed is so cute in person. It is comfortable for him. The media could not be loaded. Fantastic bed with innovative design, I was surprised on how sturdy the bed came out to be. I will say the instruction manual gives minimal help so if you’re not savvy on these kinds of things it might be difficult. Power tools recommended! First of all, great bed. Solid, sturdy, well made. All solid pine except for the bookshelf backing, which was still good quality, not flimsy. Second: forewarning - it took me almost 9 hours to put this thing together. Yes, my 5 year old was home, and more bored than he has been in his entire life, even with a movie on, unlimited snacks, and also "helping" me. I took several breaks. I am exhausted. But he loves it so it's worth the struggle. TIP: USE A DRILL FOR THE SCREWS. Doesn't call for it in the manual but it will save your hands. Great bed but cheezus crust. ... show more

Our frame came in terrible condition. 75% of the pieces had minor splitting and the finishes were bad. The majority were not sanded and had at best one coat of paint. You can see a hand-print from where someone picked up the wood too soon after staining. We tried to exchange through Amazon, but the item is out of stock. When we went to the manufacturer, they would not replace the pieces and directed us back to Amazon. We were informed by the manufacturer that we had received a previously returned item from Amazon. ... show more
