The "floor" of the individual cubes is made of fabric on top of hollow steel beams, so it's not exactly sturdy or flat by any means. But this is a very nice shelf for light nicknacks that don't need to be on a flat surface. I'd suggest putting any heavier objects (like books) on the bottom cubes to help it keep from tipping over. It was super easy to put together. I had to use the included wooden mallet to hammer some things in place which was quite noisy, but not difficult. I couldn’t find where to request extra parts- although instructions suggest contacting them in the event of missing parts, there is no contact info. I followed the suggestions I read in the reviews , it’s a process to put it together, take your time. There is a warning not to grab the end of the aluminium tubes, which is wise to listen to. I didn’t really need the wooden mallet, which was an awkward size, I just pushed the two sides together and/or turn the tubes to secure. I was frustrated to not be able to finish this so I recommend counting parts before assembling to ensure you don’t have this challenge. It’s as described, not a sturdy all metal or all wood shelf, but it should be perfect to organize a closet. Edit: I ordered an extra set because mine was missing pieces and made it larger. I even trimmed the shelf fabric piece and used the shorter poles to make a 10” wide row of cubbies, to fit my space. You can only do this if you have an extra set or trim the long poles. I used the mounting hardware to secure it, as it has 30 cubes. **be careful not to handle the poles with any pressure as you will bend them. I accidentally pushed on them twice and bent two of the vertical poles. Overall, great storage option for me. I purchased 15” wide bins and thought it would be a perfect fit. The size is NOT 15.75” as that’s the width of one cube, a 15” wide storage bin will barely fit, but it squeezes in nicely! ... show more

It is a smart, low cost way of adding some shelf space to a room and in my case a home office. Makes for a nice background during video calls. Pros: Lightweight, simple to assemble, customizable, study enough to hold books. Cons: pieces are not precise, so assembly can be tricky; wobbles strongly from side to side - make sure you anchor it to the wall. Summary: I would return it, but it was so much work to assemble and it's cheap enough that I'm willing to keep it until I can get something better. I know at this price I shouldn’t have expected much, but this is flimsy. If I even sneeze in that direction, some of the metal tubing disconnects and it’s a whole production to get it back in because as soon as you get it in one hole, one of the other levels comes out, and you have to reconnect that, and somehow keep it all together. Forget moving it to vacuum because you’ll have to put the whole thing back together again. The poles for the shelves bend easily so don’t use too much strength putting it together or moving it. I’m only keeping it as a divider for my kids room to add a little bit of privacy, but once they have separate bedrooms in our new house, these will be going to a forgotten guest bedroom closet. ... show more

The shelving seems pretty sturdy and suits my needs fine. You can put it together in different configurations, which is nice. However depending on how you want to assemble it, you might not be able to get as many cubbies out of it because there are only so many connecting pieces. For example, the “6” unit piece I bought is more like 4 to 6. I was able to get one set of three and a single out of it whereas I would have preferred 2 sets of 3. Consider how you will put it together and think about how many cubbies you want, then decide if you need to “size up” or not. ... show more
