The Hyperspeed Series includes a fleet of vehicles inspired by the vehicles and spacecraft from Disney and Pixar's Lightyear. These toys represent cool spaceships, ground vehicles and pods, including Buzz Lightyear's speedy XL rocket ships and each comes with a small character figure to pilot the way to adventure. The vehicles are approximately 6 inches long with fold out landing gear! The figures are approximately 1.5 inches tall with movable joints to let them to sit in the cockpit. The series includes vehicles and figures of both heroes and foes, for recreating Lightyear storylines and simulating exciting battle play! The vehicles include movie-accurate decoration and detail. Fans will want to collect all the vehicles to complete the fleet to create thrilling Lightyear displays. Each vehicle and figure combination is sold separately and subject to availability.

I bought this ship to use as 28mm terrain in a science fiction roleplaying game. The ship itself a bit small for 28mm scale-- enough of a discrepancy that you can spot the difference with the naked eye, but not enough of a discrepancy to be a distraction during gameplay. I should also mention that I bought these minis at 60% off, so the starfighter's slight size discrepancy was more than offset by its blowout pricing. Eventually I'm going to repaint these fighters, so the quality of molding and level of detail is important to me. These are some really cool little toys which are just begging to be kit-bashed. Pretty decent toy, my son played with it for as long as his attention span allowed. Good quality as well. The spaceman is pretty small so be careful if your toddler puts things in their mouth.

Another greatly designed ship. Trying to collect the series now that prices are clearance. Initially priced way too high for a small kids toy but the $7-8 range is doable for most gift ranges in this economy. It's hollow lightweight plastic with moving gear and a canopy. There is a mount on the bottom for accessories in other large exclusive kits. Some other sets have holes or magnets so who knows what the possibilities would have been for connecting new things had this movie not turned itself into a message instead of a story. After getting several sets I have noticed paint errors. At the $17 retail you'd expect a BanDai Japanese level of quality. My XL14 has a canopy misprint. Not the end of the world but if you're collecting be sure to look carefully. The paint is durable and holds up to play very well. The figure is DiaClone scale and adds a lot of play to the ship for kids wishing they were in it but could be a problem for teething babies. The size is almost 100mm wide, this being the widest of all the XL ships. It fits perfectly in a kids fingers to fly it around. Hope more come out but this may be it. ... show more

My 2 year old son loves all of the Lightyear spaceships. This is one of the less detailed ones, but it does it’s job. He still loved it! Beware… all of the space rangers are tiny. Definitely a choking hazard if you have small children at home.

For some reason, Amazon is having a huge sale on Lightyear toys - so I didnt hesitate to order a half-dozen of these small vehicles so my kids could have a Star Command fleet. The ships and mini pilots are well made, and they're a hit with the kids. I'm not sure I'd even consider buying these toys at their $14-$25 retail price, but in my case, six for $30 is a steal. All things considered, I highly recommend getting these Lightyear toys while they're on sale. ... show more
