If you use a smoker, and are looking for a broader range of recipes, this book is for you. If you own a Masterbuilt smoker, this book is even more helpful. If you are an experienced smoker, this book may be a bit elementary. I collect recipes though, and some of the lamb and fish recipes were great additions.     • WARNING!! Poor grammar!!!!!
I barely made it through the intro. There was poor grammar throughout it. I went back to the cover to see if it was written by a 5th grader...but no. I showed my wife and she reminded me that it was a free Kindle book that she got me. That made me feel better. The recipes are good and will add some variety to my smoking of meats. But I will still cringe when having to read each recipe due to the poor grammar. Shame on Masterbuilt for letting this out with your name on it! Your smokers are great! But you let the same person (Asian?) that writes your manuals write your cookbook!?! No I say!!! ... show more

It is recommended to use hardwood chips like mesquite and hickory for smoking food in a masterbuilt electric smoker. Because I also rely on Amazon reviews when researching purchases, I try to make my reviews as helpful and unbiased as I can. Something odd is happening here. Many of the Kindle Edition reviews are very positive and note excellent writing. The paperback edition reviews are often the opposite. The paperback copy I received has typographical errors or grammatical mistakes on EVERY PAGE. The attached picture is not just an isolated entertaining goof. The book is full of stuff like that and also includes a page-long copyright notice/warning threatening that I will face legal action for posting the picture. Because of the poor grammar, spelling mistakes, and complete lack of editing, sometimes you can’t be sure what the recipe says. Either the Kindle Edition is a different book than the paperback edition, or the 5 stars reviews are fake. ... show more
