Having a grill that texts when it's set to temp, or cooled enough to cover, once it's off is just the beginning. The smoke has always been perfect on all that we've tried! We got the pizza insert too & are trying it this week. Everything cooks perfect to temp. A grill that self regulates is such a dream - better than an oven with no clean up! Doesn't eat charcoal as other reviews have said - we find it uses much less than a traditional grill. It's a real chore to put together - think 4+ hours. But worth every minute! ... show more

First offset lump charcoal smoker, have always had a gas grill and would cook out 4-5 days a week all year. I have been cooking out and have been really enjoyed the smoked ribs, pork shoulder, beef and pork roast, chicken, burgers, hotdogs and some of the best steaks I have ever had. Will be smoking my first brisket this weekend. only 1 small issue is the temperature, all the videos show how great the temperature stays at the selected setting. I find that it is 5-10 degrees off and sometimes will drop 20-25 degrees and then come back up after I shake the hopper or open and use a stick to move the lump charcoal as it gets stuck and does not fall. But I have the work around for the temperature, if you know it is 5-10 lower just set it 5-10 degrees higher and it generally works. Still have to manipulate the coal and on a long smoke if you don't keep an eye on it it can go out and you may not know when it went out. Overall I would recommend for quality, functionality and performance. As far as durability will have to let you know in a couple of years if it is good or next year if it's not. ... show more

This grill is amazing - a work of art! Amazing temperature control, from low and slow to high temp grills and sears! Highly recommend to 800 which gives additional griddle capability. The app works fine for what it needs to do - tells you the temp and allows you to set the temp remotely.
