This desk was on sale at Raymour & Flannigan for about 20% more than on Amazon with a 14-week delivery wait from the furniture store compared to about 3 weeks from Amazon. Of course, the risk with Amazon is that the piece arrives damaged. Sure enough, my first desk was damaged and I refused the delivery. Amazon's customer service was very quick to rectify the complaint and ship a second desk, which arrived intact three weeks later. The desk is large (and very heavy--I suggest you pay to have it brought into your room of choice). It has plenty of surface space for a computer, printer, lamp, etc. There's two lockable file drawers and three regular drawers (one of which flips down to accommodate a keyboard, if you wish). I purchased the matching lateral filing cabinet and bookcase, all made by Martin. These are all very handsome pieces that do not require any assembly--another big plus. The desk came fully assembled with not a blemish on it. The box had some tears and dents but the desk itself was so well packed that it was in pristine condition. There was an odor of wood stain for a couple of days, but no big deal. The desk has 5 drawers, not 7 as stated in the description. There is a legal/letter size file drawer on both the left and right side of the desk and that accounts for two drawers, not four, although it looks like four drawers when they are closed. There are two small top drawers and a center keyboard drawer that can be used as a regular drawer if you have no need for a keyboard drawer, like me. The desk is heavy, sturdy and appears to be very well made. It is a solid desk and both file cabinets can be locked. I would buy this desk again and I am planning on purchasing a matching file cabinet. I highly recommend this desk. ... show more

I bought the desk and the bookcases, and was very skeptical of buying furniture without seeing it, for a good chunk of change. But once delivered and my office was setup, it all went away. Delivery was convenient, everything was assembled and just had to remove packing materials. No damage to the product, looks great! ... show more

The first one I ordered arrived damaged. Return was pretty simple, but a pain to wait a week for return pick up. Luckily, the second one arrived undamaged. Packaged well and very heavy. Still not the solid wood I was looking for, but about as good as you can find nowadays for the price. Drawers all sit a bit crooked (I'm guessing due to delivery handling), but otherwise I like the look and finish is nice. Don't pay the extra $19.99 for room of choice as it does not include unpackaging, and the box is too large to fit through most doorways. Comes fully assembled. ... show more
