I received it today right in the blizzard. I cannot tell how well it performs in the cold and wet as I don't feel like getting outside now. What I can say is that the fit is amazing and it is very flattering to my shape. I am 5 ft tall and 100 lbs, and XS in black fits me very well and there is slight room to spare around the waist. With how petite I am, I always have trouble finding clothes that fit. This one is perfect. The waist is where it is supposed to be. The coat falls just above my knees, unlike the picture. The sleeves are a little too long and fall onto my knuckles. If I make a fist, the hands will disappear into the sleeves, which I don't really mind. The material looks like it will resist moisture. The inside of the jacket is sewn in small squares, so it will keep the down in place. I have been looking for a smooth coat that is flattering and does not make me look like I wear a duvet. I have an Eddie Bauer one in petite. Though the fit is good, it is the puffy kind. It says water proof, but the material does not look it, and surely the wet snow melts and sips right through. I also try the Arc'teryx one, but it is way too long and the fit is not as flattering. I tried a couple of North Face ones, and do not like them at all because I look like a bear in them. Canada Goose XS is too tight around my waist and uncomfortable and the sleeves are way too long. If I paid close to $1000 for a coat, it'd better fit more than perfect. SO Chelsea is it!! Will update if it does not perform in the cold or snow. And now I have to replace that faux trim.... ... show more

    • Comfortable, warm, small hood
I prefer this coat over my North Face parka as it is less bulky. Not as warm as North Face one, but plenty warm for WI winters. The hood is close fitting to your head/face, but that doesn’t really bother me

Sleeves are shorter than traditional Marmot jackets. Although I did order another winter style and the sleeves were also too short so maybe these run different from the rain and windbreakers

I love this coat. It is is water proof, wind proof, and lite weight. Prefect! It is warm, but breathes too. Zips both ways, so you can pull the zipper up from the bottom, and set comfortablely in the car. Great coat! Amazing quality as well!

This is a beautiful, well constructed, warm, thoughtfully designed, mid length coat! It totally was the answer to my winter needs, with out the puffer look which I loath! Waterproof, not shiny, dress up or down. My usual size is small. With chart provided, I ordered the suggested medium size. The coat fit perfectly except in the chest, too narrow.
