I can’t stop playing this game. I liked the previous Mario + Rabbids on the Switch and this one is also amazing but seems more heavy on the Cinematic Mario production than the last one even. I could be done with this game but I want to get as many wins as possible so find myself going back and looking for missed tasks before finishing it. Pro tip, connect your Switch to a bass heavy sound system via bluetooth. Not sure if this game is best for older people who enjoy the strategy and set your own pace nature of it or if it’s that way for all ages. Only downside is when you go back to an earlier level to complete a task you missed, sometimes your character is so strong it’s too easy but not always. Technically one could increase the difficulty if your character is too strong. Would be sweet if they had an auto difficulty setting for users going back to earlier levels. Definitely learn a lot as you advance and that’s when you realize you missed some choice battles and puzzles. Definitely try to complete the extra missions. They’re so fun and there is no rush to win! Trust me I was the person who paid full price for this bad boy and I don’t regret it.

I was expecting this game to be more challenging, but I have been able to beat all of the levels on the first try on the most difficult setting. For perspective, I found the first Mario + Rabbids challenging and had to play Wasteland 3 and X-Com on the easiest modes. I am by no means an expert in this type of game. I had to plan out my moves and figure out which character would be the best match for each battle in the first Mario + Rabbids game. This game has none of that. Any of the characters can be used successfully in any of the levels. You get little helper sparks that each have special powers can be be swapped out between the characters. Without using the sparks, this game becomes a little more challenging, but I feel like the game should be more challenging without me having to remove a core game function. This game can be quite frustrating in the parts where you're just walking around. Walking around the levels, you come across random enemies that are a much lower level than you. You have to wait through load screens to either flee or play if you're unfortunate enough to not avoid them. Exploration is less fun because of this. Why not let users simply dash the enemies that are a much lower level or why not have the enemies level up with the player? Exploration is also less fun because of there are a ridiculous number of load screens. For instance, you can explore different houses and normally, I like to go into different buildings in games and look around, but it's a miserable experience with this game because it takes so long to load. I still found myself playing this game and enjoying some of the more challenging fights, but the moderately challenging parts were few and far between. There is nothing inherently broken in this game. I'm just not sure who the target audience is for this game. I think most kids would find slogging through the overworlds boring and the fights might be too challenging. For me, it just wasn't challenging enough, despite the fact that I'm not that good at this type of game and I can't remember a time when I didn't find a game challenging enough.
