This is a good set of LED strip lights. They are very easy to install. There is actually three ways to install these LEDs. You can peel the back and expose the sticky surface for quick application. It also comes with clips for those areas where using the adhesive backside is not idea. Finally you can use both fastening methods for a strong secure hold. These LEDs are very bright. I wish it came with a controller so that you had an all in one kit to dim the lights to your liking. So far they have held up well through various weather conditions. ... show more

I don't have a boat but I wanted waterproof LED strip lights and these fit that bill. There shouldn't be much difference between a strip light for a boat or for anything else. I've used strip lights before and they came with connectors and instructions that tell you what type of transformer to use. These don't have connectors or instructions. Unfortunately, the transformer I have doesn't seem to want to light them up. I did post a question to the seller about transformers but got no reply. My guess is that they would work well with the right connectors and transformer. If you don't need directions on how to get them to work, you'll probably like these. I do need directions, so these are going in a drawer until I have the time to investigate further. I'm sure I'll find good instructions on the web when I get around to searching, but my opinion is that the seller ought to tell you how to use what he's selling. ... show more

    • Adhesion is its weakest point
These LED strip lights are a very nice addition to my boat. I installed them but noticed the adhesion is not very strong. I just replaced it with some 3M tape, and I do not have any issues with it. Would recommend as long as you buy a stronger tape
