The “SMAPHY Marine Fiberglass Repair Kit for Boats(White), gelcoat Repair kit. The Fiberglass Boat Repair kit Repairs Cracks, Scratches, Debris, Holes, and Gaps on The Boat” arrived promptly and appeared better than described online. I chose this kit because it contains everything needed to make fast spot repairs to boats, cars and other outdoor objects. The kit has a small container of Methyl methacrylate (MMA) adhesive. MMA is the rigid, easily processed material used in artificial fingernails and the rapid dry adhesive to secure them. The repair kit contains a separated container for 2 oz of the adhesive, a tight cap for this container, a removable double plunger for this container. Four disposable mixing tubes for the container, a wooden spreader, a plastic spreader, 2 four-inch sanding discs and instructions are included. The instructions are provided on a paper which is red with white 9 point lettering and partly on the resin tube as red lettering on pink. Both are difficult to read. You may miss some important precautions. Curiously the paper instructions say the material is MMA while the tube says its epoxy. It has the odd smell of MMA. The MMA material is hazardous to skin and eyes and protection is warranted. Don't let it sit more than 3/8-inch deep or it may boil and spatter. Don't store it over 75F for more than a year from the date of manufacture or it may not harden. The tube has no identification as to the date of manufacture. The material reaches stone-like hardness in 3 hours at which point it is difficult to shape without power tools. Applying it thin and flat will save a lot of sanding. Damage to soft polyester resin structures tends to be impacts on exposed corners or anchor chain contact. Repairing with this more durable product will extend the life of the item. If the unique properties of this material are called for, it is a good value for the money and is recommended.

I've been in the process of restoring a 1994 Glastron and found myself needing to address some gouges on the interior of the boat. These scratches were not key to the boat's functionality, but they certainly impacted the looks. I decided to try out this particular fiberglass repair product. Once it dried, it blended in well, and while it managed to reduce the presence of large scrapes and cracks, the results weren't as good as I had hoped for. My main complaint is that the instructions weren't the best. They were not as clear or detailed as possible, making the application process slower and less successful. I'd recommend the manufacturer to improve on this by providing a better guide or even some video tutorials. Overall, I'd give it a solid 'okay.' It does the job to a certain degree but be prepared for a learning curve due to the lack of instructions.

The bottle is very small (2 fl oz), and the epoxy is thick and isn't easy to apply. We had to get something else to do the repairs we wanted to do. We were really hoping this would do the trick but we didn't want to make a mess just to get the liquid out. The liquid was like working with really old nail polish almost. We tried shaking to see if that would help and didn't have any luck.

I’m fixing up my older gelcoat-finished, fiberglass hull powerboat and got this repair kit for some cracks in the finish. It’s made for above-waterline repairs. Simply follow the directions. You get some accessories, including 4 dispensers that screw onto the 2-tube expoxy-glue-like applicator, 2 sanding discs, a spatula and applicator. It’s easy to use and you can sand and repaint the repair. It is a small kit, though, only 2 fl oz., so if you have a lot more to do, you may want a different product.

We had several large gouges on the interior of our boat. Nothing major that keeps the boat afloat but more in spots that unpleasing to the eye, more about aesthetics. This stuff worked wonders. It dried almost invisible and completely removed the large gouges and cracks in our boat. Make sure you follow the instructions provided in the packaging and follow some videos. Overall really happy with the minor repairs we did with this.
