Compact and perfect for travel.

We go on about 2 cruises a year and often snorkel. We had 2 snorkeling excursions and a beach excursion on a recent cruise so I bought this set for my GF. I am a certified diver and have my own gear. My Mares Avanti Quattro fins have lasted like 20 years, so I trust Mares. My GF hated to put those tourist trap snorkels in her mouth, so I got her this set. She was very happy with it and it worked perfectly. The only thing she had trouble with was the mask fogging up. I would recommend some "spit" or similar anti-fog solution when you buy a snorkel set. I also recommend that you consciously make an effort to not move any air through your nose while wearing a mask. I applied anti-fog several times for her before I advised her to not move air through her nose. She was good to go after that. A bonus about having your own gear is my GF was now easy to spot in a group of snorkelers since her snorkel was a different color than everyone else's. Most excursions we go on have a cheap blue or orange snorkel. I believe that it says the size somewhere in the listing, but the "standard" size black "Tropical" snorkeling combo looks a little small compared to my own mask which makes it perfect for a female, teen, smaller guy, etc... It would probably work just fine on larger people too, I just didn't try it. The good thing about the size is that it is very easy to pack and it comes in its own reusable storage bag. This purchase was a winner. I will update this review it if it lets us down. In my view, it basically already paid for itself. ... show more
