I was stumped with which direction to open the sides to begin placement of shelves. I was not aware sides could open both ways, one correct for placement and fit of shelving, one not. I thought they were too small for sides. It would help greatly if they would tell you which way to fold the sides to fit shelving. Once I got that figured out it was easy to continue and the product is exactly what I wanted. Worth the struggle. Instructions should have a bit more verbal directions as photos are dark.

Easy to assemble using logic and intuition. Which is a good thing because instructions provided poor guidence. One of the weld joints of the file manager's frame broke during assembly and some others look superfical; hence my low score on "durability."

This is a good-quality and nice-looking desktop accessory. It is multi-functional and was very easy to assemble. It comes with an instruction sheet/diagram which I had no trouble following. But I am confident I would have been able to put it together without the guide as it was simple to figure out after glancing over the parts. It was actually kind of fun! This appears to be a relatively universal design: black metal mesh, sleek and understated, and it matches perfectly some other items I have from Staples, such as a waste basket and a CD rack. It is sturdy and feels like it will last. The trays will support a large volume of paper without sagging. I think what I most like is that you have several options in how you can assemble and use it. As you can see in the image I included, the basket/drawer is removable and can be used independent of the unit. You can also separate the top and bottom parts. You can decide how wide you want the tray and folder/mail slots to be. And I even went so far as to turn the file folder rack base upside-down so it is not on a slant (as it is depicted in the photos on the description page.) So you can be creative! I got this to replace a plastic inbox/outbox tray that was sagging and looking pretty shabby. I am very happy with how my desk looks with this new unit. It's well-made. I would definitely recommend it!

It was easy to put together but the pieces are sized poorly so the bottom drawer doesn’t fit - it’s too wide for the structure so I can’t use it.
