  • Good tool. It works
Style: Standing Aerator
It was easy to use and it made holes that I needed for the grass seed. It was a lot cheaper to use this tool then renting a. Aerator

  • Not terrible

The device could've been made for larger, wider holes, but not terrible. Easy to assemble

  • Not a fast process but it’s easy, and it works
Style: Standing Aerator
I purchased this aerator to work on my fenced back yard. I did the whole yard, in several sessions over a couple of days. It is slow going, but it works well. I wish the holes were a little bigger, but it’s easy, and I believe it did a lot of good. Not a tool for the north 40 but great for small areas or spot repair. Sturdy and well built. ... show more

  • Great for small areas
Style: Standing Aerator
Easy to assemble with the included nuts and bolts, it comes with two stamped steel tools but do yourself a favor and use actual 10mm wrenches. The aerator works great for its intended purpose (small areas) and takes minimal storage space.

I returned this because it only goes in about an inch, however it is very well made.

  • Finally, an Aerator That Doesn't Clog: The Dual-Spring System is a Game Changer
Style: Standing Aerator
This is my personal review as a homeowner who has used this aerator extensively over the last 8 days. Solid Manual Aerator That Actually Makes a Visible Difference I’ve put this manual aerator through a lot of use on a medium-sized yard with hard sandy soil, and it’s one of the few lawn tools I’ve bought that delivered exactly what I hoped for: deeper roots and a visibly thicker lawn over time. Performance & Results My lawn started out compacted and patchy, especially in high-traffic areas. After several passes over a few weeks: The soil is noticeably looser underfoot. Grass roots are deeper and stronger—new growth feels denser, not just longer. Overseeding took much better than previous years; seeds had clear channels to fall into. Overall color is more even and greener, especially where the lawn used to struggle. It doesn’t work overnight, but if you aerate consistently and follow up with seed and fertilizer, you can absolutely see a real improvement. Design & Ease of Use A few things really stand out in daily use: Spike design: The spikes are long and sharp enough to get down into compacted soil, not just scratch the surface. One step creates multiple deep holes and good coverage, so you don’t have to walk every square inch. Auto-cleaning springs: This sounded like a gimmick to me at first, but it’s not. The dual-layer springs do a pretty good job of knocking off soil so the spikes don’t stay packed with mud. You still get some buildup in very wet or clay-heavy spots, but it’s much less constant cleaning compared to basic spike tools or shoes. Build quality: The frame feels solid—with reinforced welds and a protective coating. It doesn’t flex or feel like it’s going to bend if you hit a tougher area. I’ve used it multiple times over a season and there are no signs of warping or loose parts. Comfort & ergonomics: The cushioned handle reduces fatigue when you’re doing longer sessions. The adjustable height is a big plus if more than one person uses it or if you’re tall/short. The wide footrest with non-slip treads lets you put your weight into each step without slipping off, which is crucial on wet or uneven ground. Overall, it’s much more comfortable than trying to aerate with spike shoes or cheaper, flimsy tools. Setup & Maintenance Assembly is very straightforward: Parts line up with pre-drilled holes, and the bolt-on design is intuitive. I had it fully assembled and ready to use in under 15 minutes with basic tools. Maintenance is simple too: A quick hose rinse clears most remaining dirt from the spikes and springs. The coating seems to resist rust so far; I just store it in a dry place. Following best practices really helps: Mowing first. Aerating when the soil is moist (not rock hard and not soupy). Lightly watering the lawn a day or two before if the ground is too dry. Doing that makes a big difference in how easy it is to push the spikes in and how little clogging you deal with. Pros Genuinely improves root depth and turf density over time Deep, effective spike penetration for compacted soil Auto-cleaning spring system reduces clogging and cleaning time Sturdy, reinforced construction that feels built to last Comfortable to use: padded handle, adjustable height, wide non-slip footrest No need for awkward spike shoes Cons It’s still manual work—expect a workout, especially on larger lawns In very sticky clay or if you ignore the moisture guidelines, you’ll still get some clogging Not ideal for huge properties unless you’re okay with multiple sessions Final Verdict If you’re serious about improving a tired, compacted lawn and you don’t mind putting in some manual effort, this tool is worth it. It’s much more robust and thoughtfully designed than cheaper options I’ve tried, and the lawn health improvements over a season are obvious: thicker turf, better color, and stronger roots. I’d recommend it to homeowners with small to medium lawns who want deep aeration without renting a heavy machine, and who are willing to pair it with proper mowing, watering, and overseeding for best results. ... show more
