Works very well for aerating a yard that has become too compacted. The base is one single piece of metal, so it doesn’t bend when you walk. I’m 5’10” and 210 lbs., and a size 9.5 (US) shoe. They felt very sturdy and handled my size with no bending or other problems. Some tips and observations: 1. It’s easier to install them on your shoes before putting them on your feet. 2. Put a chair at the edge of your lawn to sit in and put them on so you don’t have to walk across any area that doesn’t need aeration. 3. Use a walking stick to help maintain your balance. This is a must! 4. Take short steps and lift your feet straight up. 5. If you try to take normal steps, you risk bending the spikes.

These are very sturdy and work well. They are easy to strap on and adjust to the feet. They are a bit big but they are easy enough to use.

The aerator shoes are well made and worked great. We used it for the bare patches in our years. This definitely works great for small yards. We used the shoes after it rained the day before to have the ground moist.

I received these a few day ago and was anxious to get to use them. They were very easy to put on. They were a little bit big for my feet, but my husband will fit them just fine. They were a bit heavy but not unmanageably so

When you buy something on Amazon that you’re not sure about; but it turns out to be great.? That, “Dang I’m smart” feeling. That’s how I’m feeling right now. I have about 3/4 of an acre of lawn that the mowers who didn’t keep their mowing deck, clean, totally wrecked my yard with weeds. I decided to start using a push mower and treating the weeds. This item wily exceeded my expectations. Based on one of the reviews, I read, I was expecting them to be flimsy, not hold up, etc. Instead, they are made of aluminum plate and everything works great. Why do I like these? First of all, I don’t enjoy getting ripped off by the lawn companies. Aerate my yard would probably cost $300. I don’t like getting ripped off by the big box home improvement store, rental departments. Third, if you rent an aerator, you have to get it in and out of your vehicle. Those things weigh a ton. I considered other aerators that you can purchase, but the problem with those is that you need a lot of weight to put on top of the aerator, so the spines deeply penetrate the soil. The genius thing about these is that they use your body. I weigh about two and my yard was not soaking. We had rain two or three days ago. I put them on and walked behind my mower so that I could kill two birds with one stone. The blinds are roughly 3 1/2 inches long, while a commercial aerator are about four to maybe 5 inches. Also, the diameter of the spikes is less than those of a commercial aerator. However, you can control the density of the holes. You just walk back over the area a couple of times. I had a couple of bear spots that had been overtaken by weeds, and I aerated those extra. They worked magnificently. For the price, they an incredible value. They solved problem for me and I’ll definitely look to this seller for future needs. A couple of tips: I wear a shoe size 12 and that’s probably about as big as these things would fit. They are one size fits all. In my experience, you want the yard to be somewhat damp, but not too damp. Just enough for the spikes to pierce. If the yard is too damp, mud will begin to accumulate the spikes. I’m not sure trying to kill two birds with one stone by mowing and aerating was a great idea. Although, this is the best workout I’ve had in a long time, it took me twice as long to mow just because you are having to pull your foot up and out of the holes. It might be better if you mowed on one day aerated. Regardless, I am a very happy customer and this product is an excellent value.
