Generally this is fairly good more as a back scratcher but it will get in at hard to reach muscles. The only real issue is that the handles are too flexible for a good firm massage. For that you need to choke up on the handle quite a bit. Then the handle is too short to reach other parts of the body. So I had to take away one star for that. These are the only soft silicone fascia massage balls on a handle that I’ve found. The small hard black balls all over the market are nice looking; but their handles are short which defeats the object of getting between the shoulder blades. They are made for percussion massage, which is not appropriate close to the spine. These are the texture and density that allow one to apply moderate, sliding massage pressure in the fascia between the own shoulder blades and on and around the spine without having to press up on a ball against a wall. Nice! But 1. I was annoyed I had to buy two. I donated the other to Goodwill to get it out of my house, because 2. OMG, the the saturated baby pink and baby blue pastel colors are UGLY! They work, but the next to all the black & bold colors of my other sports equipment they look weird and out of place. Bizarre! Honestly I never thought twice about equipment color before these arrived, but this color is so glaringly wrong, I have to force myself not to puzzle over it every time I pick it up. Did they think these would be used by newborn infants? Whose taste is this? Who did they think their audience is? Did they think this made them a his-and-hers set? I tuck it under my rolled-up mat between uses. Ugh! Prior to this purchase I could not have imagined the color of a massage tool could cause stress, LOL! It’s so distracting, I might throw away. Too bad. I will keep looking. Maybe some smart silicone fabricator will see this review and hop on the opportunity. It’s not hard, just remember, this is a tool for an adult exerciser, and will be probably be used and stored in sight with black, primary or fluorescent colors.
