  • THIS IS A GREAT DEAL AND GREAT PRODUCT. DON'T LISTEN TO THE LOW HUMIDITY LEVEL REVIEWS. THIS IS NORMAL FOR NEW HUMIDORS
First of all, out of all the reviewers you are going to have differing levels of experience smoking and owning cigars, period. If you didn't know this before, well you should know if you smoke cigars. Never EVER rely on analog hygrometers. These are for show, they look nice, I buy these humidors for that reason and others I own for the same reason. Rule of thumb, ALWAYS rely on a reputable DIGITAL hygrometer device. Don't listen to the reviews where people are saying "it leaks" or "doesn't build humidity properly". NO this is NOT the case. The case is: particular consumers don't know the basics and write a bad review. Again: NEVER rely on an analog hygrometer; always invest in a good digital one to get your humidity readings. I own 6 of these humidors and every single one works exactly as a humidor should. I have several digital hygrometers that I calibrated with my Boveda calibration kits and have swapped them all around in different humidors and am getting consistent and accurate humidity readings. Don't rush and buy all your cigars when you have a brand new humidor. Take an extra couple of weeks to season it properly. In the beginning it is normal for the humidity to fluctuate as the Spanish cedar is soaking up the moisture. Once you have stabilized the humidity in a healthy range anywhere from 65%-75% (I’ve even heard some say 60-80 is okay) as it is normal for humidors to "breathe" (i.e. not be completely sealed). Fluctuations will also greatly depend on what climate and environment you live in. Winter months will be usually drier and your humidification devices will have to work a little harder simply requiring more top ups of Gycol Solution. Also a word of advice; never ever use the green foam that comes standard in almost ALL humidors. Invest in any fairly inexpensive humidification beads/crystals and ONLY use Glycol Solution for the beads and ONLY use distilled water to season the humidor correctly (plenty of guides online on how to properly season a humidor). To conclude, this humidor is a steal of a deal and you are getting excellent bang for your buck based on function and build quality AND aesthetics. You simply cannot go wrong; I highly recommend this humidor for anyone. ... show more

  • A Fine Humidor for a Great Price
There are a lot of humidors on the market. You can spend as much or as little as you want. But this humidor is a great buy for the money. It has a large capacity. I currently have about 70 Churchill size cigars in mine, and a few others. To find a humidor this size, often you have to pay a lot more money. It is well built. The finish is beautiful inside and out. The lid fits tight. There is one long and two short piano type hinges on the cover. Also, there is a mechanism inside to keep the lid from going too far back when it is open. There is a movable divider for the bottom section, and also for the removable top tray. It has a beautiful brass lock on the front that comes with two keys. The top cover has a large glass lid for viewing and showing off your best cigars. It has an analog hygrometer. The unit also comes with a humidifier you fill with distilled water from time to time. The humidor is lined with Spanish Cedar and there is clear instructions on how to properly season the humidor prior to use. For the money, this is a great humidor. I would buy again. ... show more

  • Great Piece - Time Will Tell
I want to first say that I have only had this for about 2 weeks, so I cannot give a review of the longevity or humidity seal over time. However, I can say that the product arrived in great condition, looks amazing, matches the photos, and seems to be seasoning well. **You Must Season The Humidor First** I spent about a week seasoning the humidor. I did not wipe it down with a moist cloth, as this can warp the cedar, but threw in some humidifying packets and found real success with an open jar of distilled water. Never use tap water. I let it season for about 3-4 days until it was holding a humidity of 67-68%. Then I threw in about 10 cigars, I didn't want to fill up too fast as this should be a gradual process. The humidity dropped while the cigars absorbed some, but it's holding steady in the mid-60s. Amazing smell, I smoked my first cigar yesterday that had been in there about a week and it was great. Typically you want to let a cigar rest in a humidor for a few weeks after receiving. Overall it seems to seal well, you can tell when the door shuts. The finish is good, interior is great, and overall feels like a quality box. I would caution against expecting too much from the lock and key, they seem more for show than utility. As for capacity, based on the cigar sizes in my photo, I would say you could force 100 in there, but really a humidor does not produce great results when filled to the top. You're better off keeping about 50-60 in here max. I have two smaller humidors rated 40-50 and its the same story. If you actually put 40-50, they will end up drier than desired, but are great with about 20-25. Keep some humidifying packets/beads in there for best results. ... show more

  • really nice humidor for the price
This humidor has a very nice look and feel. This was an upgrade from a smaller humidor I had for years. I specifically chose this for the glass top and outside hygrometer. It makes it much easier to monitor cigar and humidity level.
