My grandson LOVES sharks , he can name all the species of them , He also lives across from a huge park and we regularly grab a few dollar store kites and go fly them. Lots of fun , great exercise and quality time. Dollar store kites are a one time thing , they never survive to fly again so its basically disposable kites. I decided to surprise him with this kite. He was first off thrilled , He's never had a kite like this. It couldnt have been more perfect for him. We put it together at the park , super simple and he was excited that this wasnt a disposable kite. This kite is also much larger than any he has ever flown so i wasnt sure he would be able to get it flying and this grandma cant run ! But with our Oklahoma wind , it was easy to get up in the air and once it was up , it was up ! He is a small but mighty 10 yr old! I really was worried about it carrying him away LOL! The kite got alot of attention at the park , from people watching it from the picnic area to cars slowing down , its a LARGE kite. The kite is great quality , easy to assemble with detailed instructions with clear diagrams ,the sticks that seem to be unbreakable , to the polyester material of the kite , graphics are bright , its all very well made . Was easy to break down after our fun and store in the included bag. I expect this kite to last most if not all summer and maybe longer. Its more expensive but worth it and considering the uses it will get , will probably end up saving money. My daughter said he has asked every day after school to go fly his kite and im expected to come back next weekend and take him !

The colors were vibrant and the design is very fun especially for kids. Just like a lot of other similar kites, you do have to spend a few minutes putting it together with tent poles, but everything fit together well without any issues. If you're flying a kite, you're probably doing so on a windy day or somewhere where the winds are strong like at the beach. I'd recommend putting this together at home or in the car beforehand - I probably wouldn't just stick the packaging (see photo) in your bag because it's more stressful to put together when you're battling wind. Once assembled, there were no problems catching wind and taking flight. It's nice and large. The whole thing is very lightweight. You get the standard thin string and plastic handle which is a bit uncomfortable to hold. Unfortunately, our string got tangled and sure enough it broke. But the quality and durability are similar to other items in this price/quality range so not surprising. I'll probably end up buying another one and just being more careful.
