The first thing to pay attention to when you're buying one of these is whether or not it already has makeup. This one is sold both ways in various hair colors, so get the one that suits your needs. I ended up with blonde the "unpainted" one which is completely skin tone except for the eye details - no eyebrows or lashes, just the whites, irises, and pupils painted on. I believe this is the "613" blonde shade that you find in hair extensions and wigs - basically a good bit of yellow tone to it. If you want to practice your dying technique, this can be altered. The hair feels very soft and smooth. It's advertised as 80% human hair, so you get a blend of realism and durability. The box it comes in is marketed a bit towards children, but this is a great starter cosmetology practice set whether for play or for your profession. Cut and style the hair, apply some makeup, do the brows and lashes, and this one's ready to go. I decided to get this to practice both my hair and makeup skills. I am not a professional stylist, but I want to become more creative with both my hair and makeup. It is easier to practice on this mannequin head than a real person because she can't get restless or say, "ouch" if you pull hair. She is much more realistic than I was expecting. The hair is very long and shiny. It is easy to style and braid. I have been able to do some different styles of buns and braids. It does come with hair accessories to experiment with as well which is really handy. I have also been practicing the makeup. It does wash off well so you can apply as often as you want to practice. I just use soap and water with a washcloth. She doesn't have eyebrows, but that is ok because I want to work on applying those so I can get better with my own. Her lips are also thin but I work with a lip pencil and lipstick to create full and thick lips. The stand holds the head upright while I work on it. Overall, it is great for practicing hair and makeup techniques. I would recommend! ... show more

I'm not a studying stylist or anything, but I have been wanting to get one of these to display my hair and beauty products on and give it a face makeover for fun. And she doesn't disappoint! I was immediately obsessed with the super cute packaging she comes in. It's definitely not professional and way more geared toward recreational play, but that's why I wanted her! It has a mermaid on it, which is very random, since she's only a head, but I love mermaids, so I'm here for it lol. The quality of the mannequin herself is really nice. Her face is ugly, but it's not as bad as others I've seen and it mostly looks that way because it's so blank, which is perfect as a base for makeup! The material of her skin is soft, sturdy silicone and the eyes don't scrape off or anything, so I suspect they'll hold up to multiple makeovers. The hair is a bit dry and coarse feeling, but I expect that will work better for braiding. I'm also blown away by all the accessories. The stand is very professional and intricate. She also comes with clips, color strip extensions, and a bunch of styling tools, which is nice to have for the doll and myself. The colors of the hair extensions are very bold and primary, and the clips look on the wonky side though. Overall, considering everything it comes with and the high quality of the doll herself, I think this set is an amazing value! I love and highly recommend it if you want a mannequin head for fun, but it might not be the absolute most natural pick for an up and coming professional. ... show more

On first arrival the hair was a little messed up in the box. However, my daughter quickly got it brushed out. I would recommend using a table that doesn't have a rounded edge so you can secure it better. There hair looked nice and not cheap. Super easy to brush out and style. My feelings are torn about this - my daughter liked the mannequin (29" colorful hair, no longer seen in the listing), but it is pretty generic looking, and its definitely not made entirely of 100% human hair (I think they are using this phrasing in the sense that they say further in the listing it's a blend made from human hair, but I would venture to say that overall the hair is pretty synthetic. The box it comes in makes it look like the cheapest doll gift you can find, but the mannequin itself has been fun for my daughter to play with her hair and try different hairstyles, so I based this rating on her happiness. I am not the best at doing hair. I can curl my own and put it in a pony. This head has been very helpful with learning tips and techniques! I watch videos and try it out on the head first or 10 times then I feel more comfortable on my wiggly kid. The hair feels more fake then real but thats ok with what I am using it for. ... show more
