  • Nice overall, but a few issues....
Color: Black/Grey Style: 3-Drawer
Dents. Well packed in styrofoam and cardboard, but still had several dent and bends in the thin metal. I pounded out most of the dents and straightened the corners that were bent Nice cabinet. Relatively easy to put together, very small drawings in the instructions

  • Great Purchase, Excellent Quality!
Color: Black/Grey Style: Floating Cabinet
I bought three of the Fortress Floating Garage Cabinets to put on the wall over my workbench. All three came out of the box with all parts in perfect condition - not one single dent, bend, or scratch. I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging job. I think the shipping cartons could withstand a fair amount of abuse without the contents being damaged. Assembly was quite simple. The instructions were easy to understand. In my opinion, anyone who thinks otherwise simply has no knack for doing this sort of thing. And it was easy to get the doors aligned. Just follow the instruction to not tighten any of the screws until the end. After putting it all together with all the screws just slightly loose, set it upright on a table or other nice, flat, level surface. Looking at the front side, gently push the top left or right until the top and bottom of the doors are aligned (maybe have a helper hold it that way), and then partly tighten one front allen screw at a couple of the corners. Make sure the doors are still aligned and partly tighten a couple more corners. If still aligned, firmly tighten all the front screws, then turn it around and tighten all the back allen screws. Tighten the small phillips screws that hold the back on last. Once assembled, these cabinets seem at least as sturdy as I expected, and they are very nice-looking units. The locks are probably next to useless, as anyone with any strength could probably rip the doors open when locked (and do serious damage in the process), but they should at least keep a child out. And I didn't buy them for the locking feature anyway. ... show more

  • Sturdy and large
Color: Black/Grey Style: Floating Cabinet
Holds all my spray paint cans and chemicals in the garage. Took about 15 mins to build, but very very sturdy. Decent little lock (but it wouldn’t keep out someone if they really pulled. Mostly kid proof). Decent magnet to hold shut. Happy I made the purchase

  • Impressed ... ordered & assembled 6 with no issues at all
Color: Black/Grey Style: Dual Floating
I needed 6 for my garage remodel and ordered them all at once not knowing for sure the quality. When arrived, I was first impressed by the packaging, nicely done with cardboard and foam inserts in between pieces. Absolutely no damage or missing pieces in all 6 boxes. The powder coated finishing is outstanding. The assembly was quite straight forward and easy, all holes lined up with no issues. As assembled they were very study and square. Mounting to the wall was also quite easy. In the end, I'm very pleased with the quality, look, and function of these cabinets and would certainly recommend. ... show more

  • Mostly smoke and mirrors
Color: Black/Grey Style: Tall Cabinet
Ok, first off this review is for the "TALL STANDING CABINET." Note that Amazon's layout on these products is confusing because they all fall under one product page and all the reviews here are for various products, so know what you're reading about or you'll be misled. Now, for the TALL STANDING CABINET: I'm a metalworker by trade and was underwhelmed with the quality. The sheetmetal is very thin and easily bent by hand. While better brands like Gladiator and Seville Classics use nutserts this cabinet uses entirely sheetmetal screws. Two holes were completely non-existent so be sure to have a drill on hand if you plan to order and build the TALL STANDING CABINET. I bought mine on Warehouse Deals but I can't imagine paying the present retail of over $300 for this thing. It's really marginal. In typical import-product fashion they fixated on unnecessary or illogical things like an overly-complicated wall anchoring system and they seem inexplicably VERY concerned about the customer anchoring it to the wall. I understand that tipping over on people is, well, not good, but I've purchased several other cabinets and they've never been this paranoid or even made mention of anchoring to the wall. I understand we live in a litigious society but I'm a believer in natural selection...... Now if you do have the unfortune of unpacking the TALL STANDING CABINET be sure to have a vacuum on hand. They pack it with that very thin Styrofoam that breaks apart easily and leaves a MILLION TINY little balls that static cling to everything. Seriously, the product deserves to lose one star just because of this Styrofoam, and there are numerous sheets of it in the box. My complaint of tons of Styrofoam might lead you to think it's well-packaged, but that would be overly generous. It's packaged barely sufficiently, with the problem being that the sheetmetal is SO thin it's easily tweaked in transport. I had to massage/bend/tweak several dog-eared corners to get it to all go together, and the damage to the outside of the cardboard box was negligible for an item this size. I even had to break out a "furniture clamp" (also known as a pipe clamp) to straighten one entire wall to force an even reveal along the left door line. As expected the instructions are poorly written with things like, "To assembly the X......" That said I'm not knocking off any stars for poor instructions, I'm mechanically inclined and have deciphered far worse. Also be sure to have your own quality 4mm ball-end hex key. They include a hex key but mine was was curled and twisted - not from use or abuse mind you, but from poor manufacturing/QC. It doesn't matter however, you'll want a ball-end key so you can drive many of the fasteners at an angle. It also REALLY needs to be supplied with one more shelf, there's plenty of height within to utilize it but honestly I'm guessing they were afraid of allowing the customer to load too much weight into the TALL STANDING CABINET. In contrast I also have a Sandusky cabinet of the same height in my basement that came with so many shelves I have several on stand-by 'cause I just can't fathom a use for them all - - IOW you get what you pay for. All in all I just can't recommend this, it lacks in too many areas. I'm allowing it two stars because once assembled it is *technically* a cabinet. It does look "pretty nice." I was hoping to put books in this but I'm really not sure how it'll fare loaded with books, I mean even the side walls are just so thin. The instructions DO specify a max load of 55 lbs per shelf so if I exceeded that they'd technically have an "out." (not that I'd ever blame the manufacturer for me overloading it - - I may wind up just modifying or even riveting in supports if I have a problem, I am a metalworker after all!) However, if you like poor value for your money, are handy with metal and own a few more tools than the average homeowner, I recommend you buy this if you like marveling at just how cheap products have become these days. ... show more

  • Be patient
Color: Black/Grey Style: Floating Cabinet
Let me offer some assistance. I assembled two. After you’ve assembled a cabinet and before you hang it on the wall, stand it up and attach the doors. Look and see if the doors line up. If they don’t, loosen the bolts slightly and tap one side of the cabinet and see if the doors square up. If not, tap the opposite side. Once they are square tighten the bolts. Your doors should be perfect. These aren’t bad cabinets. ... show more

  • I'm impressed!
Color: Black/Grey Style: Dual Floating
I don't say this often, but I am impressed with these cabinets. I chose them mainly because they are not made in China. The quality is great, they look awesome, and they were easy to assemble and hang. I liked them so much that I bought more to complete the garage of my new house! Money well spent.

  • Easy to assemble
Color: Black/Grey Style: Dual Floating
Metal is a little on the thin side but when put together they are very sturdy. A little tip leave every thing loose and place some shims in the top and bottom in the center of doors to where everything is square. Tighten screws afterwards and doors should be squared and even.
