This was a blind buy for me. Why would I take that change? It was originally intended to me sold strictly at the Mancera Paris store according to the media, so it is very hard to find in the US. In fact Amazon is the only place I have found it for sale. This of course made me very curious. Why am I even interested in it? Well it has pear. If you look at the notes you will see it looks like a typical white floral/vanilla fragrance accept for the pear and angelica. I believe the pear and angelica turn this fragrance into a truly unique and compelling fragrance. I can't get enough of it and I'm not a "fruity" person. Since I have bought this all my fragrances are gathering dust while I wear this everyday.

Velvet Vanilla smells like angels. There has to be some magic added in somewhere, although it's not listed in the notes. Seriously, this is sweet, velvety, fruity at first, then more florals come in. The angelica note shines throughout. The drydown smells quite a lot like Guerlain Angelique Noire, with the vanilla and angelica. Overall, a truly lovely, well-blended fragrance. Pierre Montale knows what he's doing.

This is some good juice IMO, however it should be tested before purchased for your own like. Definitely a female fragrance. I would not recommend Velvet Vanilla as a blind buy. Does not smell like vanilla or anything that resembles the image in your mind of velvet. The notes here are floral, tuberose, peppery, slightly fruity (sort of bubblegum), with backgrounds or rose and musk. The dry down of this is a gourmand vanilla boozy tuberose, and is delicious.

Love the smell! Not sure if this is the original or its been watered down because it lasts for a couple of hours ! I'm disappointed since it's pricey and i expected some good longevity & Sillage.
