The DF012DSE combines the ultra-compact design of a cordless screwdriver with 21 clutch settings and an auto-stop clutch for extra fastening control. The DF012DSE is powered by a Makita-built motor that delivers 71 in.Lbs. Of max torque in drilling mode. The 2-speed gear selection offers 200 RPM and 650 RPM for low or high speed applications. The 21 clutch settings offer a range of fastening torque, from 32 in. Lbs. In clutch setting 1 to 50 in. Lbs. In 21. It is also equipped with a built-in L.E.D. Work light operated by a separate switch on the opposite side of the rocker, and provides illumination for more accurate work. The DF012DSE also includes a low battery indicator: the L.E.D. Light blinks when the battery needs to be recharged. • Great Small Driver
Style: Kit
This is my go-to driver for small tasks and has performed perfectly so far. The torque clutch stops rotation after one hit, which is much better than on my drills. I disassembled some furniture today and this saved an incredible amount of time and was much easier to use than a drill or impact driver. I then used it to pilot drill holes then drive 2 1/2" #9 screws to hang a birdhouse. It will also find use on electrical work and working on my bikes. The size makes it more convenient to carry than even the small impact drivers. The only negatives are that the price is high and I wish it had a battery level indicator like the LXT batteries do. ... show more

  • The best power driver made
Style: Kit
This is the power driver you’ve been looking for. The driver is perfect for working circuit boards and other delicate equipment or devices. You simply turn the dial to set the exact amount of torque needed and done. The driver will automatically dead stop when the set amount of torque is reached. It’s fantastic. You don’t have to worry about cracking the circuit board, breaking delicate screw mounts or stripping screws. The driver also has plenty of power to tackle any job. I would buy this tool again but I don’t have because it’s a Makita. I would recommend this tool to anyone. Get it, you will not regret it. ... show more

  • This bad boy is a game changer!
Style: Kit
This is My new "In the house drill" I no longer need to lug one of the bigger impact or chuck drills out witch can be hard to navigate putting together furniture or getting in tight spaces. This thing works like a champ! I've drilled through 3 inch lumber, plaster and even some metal sheet without it skipping a beat. Best part is that there are two separate buttons for forward and reverse. I haven't put this drill through the paces as far as battery life but it's seems to be on pace with my bigger makitas as far as no power loss as the battery drains. ... show more

  • Really hopeful, but disappointed
Style: Kit
First the Positive: Light Weight, great for terminals (electrician: device install), fits well in tool carrier for service calls, no need to bring in my larger impact driver to open panels, remove devices etc. The stop feature when torque is met is the main reason for my decision to purchase, it's really great and less fatigue on my hand that is holding the electrical device with vibration of impact driver. I can just imagine what that is doing to my joints at 160 + devices in a given day. Negative: No Electric Brake, No variable Speed (I knew this when I purchased, but hoping it would not be a problem- it is for me) Handle doesn't lock into position, again I new this before purchase but it has to be said. Light is easily bumped and light stays on, it will automatically turn off in 5 minutes. Missing the electric brake when i glance off of a screw and have to wait for it to stop spinning to reengage. Feel like my first cordless drill in the late 80s. I have used a Dewalt DW920 for many years, Variable speed, electric brake. I believe it was first made in 2001. Maybe the smaller Makita size makes variable speed and brake difficult, but these two features would have made this tool a gem. Dewalt was much heavier and longer, but it was adequate. I still keep dewalt in the truck when variable is just so necessary. Hope this helps with your decision, I have Makita Impact Hydraulic Driver, 1/2" Hammer Drill, SDS Hammer Drill, grinders, sawzall...the list goes on, all well thought out tools ...This one needs a little work, may consider a furture purchase if electric brake and variable speed is added. ... show more
