  • Very Nice!
Very Nice!

  • these are nice cases!
I've had the Bosch cases (7 of them) for about 6 years. Never really been happy with them. But i use them anyway. Mine are stored i a work van, and most get moved daily. The locking system is infuriating, they will lock when you don't want them to and will easily break off off. Latches break easily too........... But this is review about the Makita though. I have an older one that came with my track saw, and the latches are stiff as mentioned in other posts. But the new latches are no problem. As my Bosch boxes bite the dust, I'll be gettnig more of these IF the tools I carry will fit as they are different sizes. Yes I would recommend them. ... show more

  • Nice enough stacking tool storage boxes.
Love that Makita makes these staking tool storage boxes. I’m a sucker for boxes and storage, and those that are modular, lock and stack are even better. These fit the bill, with my recent dive into battery powered tools, I needed a place to store them in the garage. Now with most companies not making a handy carrying case for their tools, I hope this will make up for that. The boxes are pretty solid, could have used a slightly thicker, sturdier plastic if I’m being picky. But they work well enough. I got all the sizes, from the XL down to the small. The locking latches are ok, a bit stiff and you have to get them just right or they will not lock. I’m not sure how sturdy they are when all the boxes are actually stacked and locked together if you are going to transport them. But they are sturdy enough just to keep them from wobbling around. I like that they make several sizes which at least for me, will accommodate all my tools, so far. The XL one is big enough to fit my circular saw, planer and router as well. The other sizes are also good for the rest of my tools, which are not makita tools, but I don’t think the boxes will care. I also want to make a few customized containers to fit inside. You know what they say, a place for everything and everything in it’s place. All in all a good product, could have been a bit thicker plastic and perhaps had different type locks, but all in all good enough. ... show more

  • My 5th now
I love these Makita cases as they match the footprint of the Festool Systainers (but at less than half the price). In fact, they even interlock with the Systainers (only when the Sustainer is placed on top, they will NOT lock if the Systainer is underneath). I built a storage cabinet for my Systainers and, as these have the identical foot print and sizes, they are interchangeable within the cabinet, which made the build so much easier. I have the small, medium and Xtra large versions. They hold my DeWalt router, cordless drills and I have one for drill bits and drills. Oh, and I also have the Makita Tracksaw. All stored in a neat set of cabinets. Love them! ... show more

  • Great storage boxes for tools
These boxes are amazing. Very durable and hold a lot of space. I highly recommend getting the foam inserts (T-02571), however, for this Medium box you need to purchase 2x of them. More for the larger boxes. Still, the depth is perfect for the Routing tool, 2x drills, and 2x batteries.....At least in the setup I used. They are 'fairly' lightweight. If you have a large stack of them, that might change, but they hold together pretty well. I wish the connecting latches fit a little more firmly together, as there is light play between the boxes. Just be mindful of how much weight is in each stack, and I wouldn't have each stack much higher the 4' when they are filled with tools. Just a smart safety precaution. There are strap points on the sides , and they have come in real handy. Plastic accepts labels nicely. I've had some plastics where labels like to pull away after time. These seem to label nicely with a 'Brother's labeler', and the labels come off cleanly. ... show more

  • Good Value
I've got several of these and I like them way batter than the hard cases that typically come with the nicer power tool kits because of the flexibility to build your own kit. The Makita systainers use the older style latching mechanism which is quite fiddly compared to the new t-loc found on the Festool systainers but they are half the price. The newer style can be mounted to the top of the older style but not the other way around. Compared to some of the other systems such as the Milwaukee Packout these seem less durable to me but I've never had one break and I appreciate the lighter weight and smaller footprint but YMMV. ... show more

  • IMPORTANT TO KNOW!!!!!
There is 1 MASSIVE piece of information lacking that is NOWHERE to be found in the description! The OUTSIDE DIMENSION is listed repeatedly as 6-1/2” x 15-1/2” x 11-5/8”. Obviously the inside dimensions will be less but this could, as in my case, change which size you purchase. The INSIDE DIMENSIONS are 5-1/8” x 15-1/4” x 11-1/4”. Had I known that there’s 1-3/8” difference, I would have gone to the large. This is my only complaint and it’s about the listings description and not the product itself. Makita actually lists this on the box so I’m not sure why it’s not in the listing. ... show more

  • Very Good Tool Storage
I Keep adding to the collection., ordered another. They are a good box, interlocking and a good size. A great way to organize the woodshop and repair shop. I use this one to put all the bits in, then it clips to larger storage bottom that holds the routers, I have the trim router and a Dewalt router in there. Great storage cases, easy access and keeps them from all the dust and dirt. Highly recommend. ... show more
