When I opened the product I thought I had to return it. I couldn't pop the lid! But then I found out it is a twist cap. These are cute because they expand and retract. My granddaughter loves them. And they hook to backpack (she is always losing her water bottles and leaving them at school). Love the idea, and my daughters use them daily. Slightly difficult to clean when there's something other than water in them, but we get it done. I don't know if it was just me, but I've noticed one of them leak. Maybe one of my daughters didn't close it correctly, but that's the only issue. It looks cool, but overall a totally impractical water bottle. The top leaks, both out the spout that doesn't fully seal even when snapped shut, and the from the cover, even when fully screwed on. Also, because it's collapsible, if it's in the extended position, any light squeezing of the bottle just spurts it everywhere. Bought these for my kids to use on a hiking trip. The actual water bottles are great and I love that they can be compacted. The issue I have is that the carabiner is super cheap. I was counting on hooking these to my backpack but the carabiner broke on day 2. Kind of a pain to store after that.
