I own a 2015 GMC Sierra 5.3L and buying this exhaust was a close battle between MagnaFlow and FlowMaster cat-back exhausts systems. My goal for exhaust tone from the start was to be moderately loud but not annoying, sound great without sacrificing HP/TQ and MPG gains and overall ease of installation since I would be installing it myself (without ever installing an exhaust system before). I couldn't be any happier with the outcome. From the packaging, to the hardware and everything in between this is a SOLID product. In fact, the quality of the exhaust system was so impressive, it fits and works with the frame and exhaust hangers BETTER then the OEM exhaust did. Removing the OEM exhaust was a hassle because of the OEM rubber hangers; this part of the installation took the longest (because you must preserve the OEM rubber hangers for the new exhaust system). Once everything was removed, the MagnaFlow fit like a glove.. Not like OJ Simpson's glove, though. Much better then that. Starting from the catalytic converter and working your way back (ensuring you use the correct sized clamps provided which are marked) all the way over the axle and dual tips out the back, plus adding one hanger to the drivers side with the provided hardware is all it takes. The only thing after that is minor adjustments, and final tightening. I used no RTV, no exhaust bandages, no extra clamps, no extra hardware. I only used what came with the kit which worked flawlessly as it was designed to and now 500 miles later the muffler has been broken in and sounds even better then at first - plus I have NO exhaust leaks, my MPG has improved and it sounds great. Again, this was my first exhaust job ever and it was extraordinarily easy and quick. It only took me a total of 3 hours from start (removing OEM exhaust) to finish (turning the key and driving away). As a side note, the MagnaFlow exhaust is 2.75" inlet and dual 2.5" outlet from the muffler. The muffler is a a straight flow muffler without any baffles or resonators. As a result, you will get the most flow (which means the most HP/TQ and MPG gains) from this system VS a FlowMaster which adds baffles and resonators to give a more aggressive/louder tone (but adds backpressure and restricts flow). I am satisfied with how this exhaust sounds. It is not quiet by any means - it is noticeable and moderately loud. However, its far from being TOO loud and definitely far from annoying. This MagnaFlow system is a quality exhaust system and with a little mechanical know how would of been easy to install. The only reason I gave it a Three Star rating was because the product showed up 3 weeks late. I had no issues in returning it. But during my wait I found a place that would install a welded stainless steel system with a MagnaFlow muffler. It sounds really great.

Update:I’ve had these on my truck about 18 mos and no problems & sound great.Pretty quiet until you get on the gas a little..100% satisfied & recommend.. Another set of MagnaFlow’s and like the rumble of these too..had a set on my ‘08 Regency now on my ‘18 Silverado

Package arrived undamaged and on time. Exhaust fit perfectly and the materials are top quality. Was fairly easy to install. Sounds great, nice tone but not obnoxious. Now it sounds like a truck instead of a Prius.

I had a Gibson Supertruck in my previous 5.3 V8 and I was heard 1-2 blocks away. This is a grown-up exhaust! I love the low tone rumble without annoyance.It does chop when in V4 mode (notable 69-71 mph), but it's tolerable. Hit the gas or disable active management if you don't like the chopping. Removing the OEM exhaust uncut was a challenge (added 1h of pushing and cursing) but I saved it just in case.
