I have only used one of the bobbins, but so far so good! I was bit concerned when the box arrived in an Amazon mailer with the stain on the side of the box. Then when I opened the box, the hot mess inside concerned me again. I wish there was a way to keep the bobbins stable during shipping. I did count to ensure there were 100 bobbins and to my surprise there were 103! I am pleased so far with the quality of the bobbins and that's what really counts!

I think pre-wound bobbins are incredible. Since you mostly use white bobbin thread for machine embroidery, they save both time & money because they are completely filled & wound perfectly. I’ve even bought some pre-wounds with colored thread to use for making lace because the bobbin thread shows. I’ve got a new machine AND I’m new to machine embroidery, but my teacher & owner groups on FB also highly recommended Fil-Tek. I returned these, as explained below, but not because there was anything wrong with them. I’ve never had to be concerned about bobbin Class or Type before & most respondents to my “what type” query to the owners groups told me either L or 15, but not clarifying what either meant. A few people were negative about the bobbin-less bobbins, but that didn’t worry me. What concerned me is what I explain below. I wasn’t in a position to try out the tiny pin accessory before return time ran out, so unable to absorb the cost in case they didn’t work, I reordered a box of 15s with a bobbin. I’ve no reason to think these aren’t as wonderful as other reviewers say they are. But if you’re a newbie to pre-wounds, make sure you know what Class AND Type bobbin your machine MODEL uses because that makes a world of difference. You could easily by a box of Ms if you don’t read the description. It’s the L that requires this pin accessory. 15s don’t. Once I finish the replacement box, I’m going to try these. 144 extra bobbins is more than enough. I returned these without use. I have a new Babylock Solaris which uses a 15/L. I bought pre-wound bobbins after being told a white bobbin is appropriate for most machine embroidery projects. They hold more thread & are more smoothly wound then one you wind on the machine. Efficient & cost saving. I became concerned after posting a query in 2 users groups about the absence of the plastic bobbin & received a very large number of responses indicating this is a strongly debated issue among owners. The L requires the use of a very tiny Pin insert that comes with the machine to raise the bobbin height incrementally in the bobbin case. Some users reported not using the insert with fine results. I purchased these because of the manufacturer, highly recommended, without noticing there wasn’t a bobbin. There were as many who reported having a problem with that as those who said they performed beautifully. I’m obviously new to machine embroidery as well as to this machine. I am having to purchase a remarkable number of new supplies & can’t be cavalier about wasting this amount of money. The price per bobbin seems quite reasonable, it’s just too much to waste. I’m watching how-to videos more than I am sewing, so I could easily have run out my 30 day return before discovering these didn’t work well. I returned these & bought a box of 15s with the plastic bobbin for the same number & price. They match the height of the bobbins that came with the machine, so I feel more safe with them. I’ve been told by the dealer, a multitude of users & professional embroiders that teach the videos that these expensive high tech machines are quirky about “liking” thread brands. I find this really weird; they are machines & aren’t they built to use, uh, thread? But the users in just the Solaris MODEL, not brand, groups insist their machines “like” different brands of thread as though it was food. Therefore, I can’t personally comment on my experience with this bobbin, but can report a large number of users in 2 Solaris owner groups use & love them. I can also report others won’t try them for the same reason I didn’t: fear about that little pin. Do make sure you know if your machine is supposed to work with this style bobbin & that you have the tiny pin insert if that’s required to raise the height.

I only use these bobbins on my Brother PR1050X. The magnetic side holds the bobbin in the case when loading the machine. I never have to change the bobbin tension since using these!

If you haven't used Magna-Glide bobbins, these are the s---. iT Will improve the quality of your embroidery tremendously. Just remember to remove bobbin case spring. We use a variety of suppliers. Amazon beat all their prices - especially with free shipping.
