Description

CIRCULAR POLARIZER FILTER Polarizing filters work by cutting the amount of polarized, or reflected light, that reaches the digital sensor. Polarized light can be found everywhere, including reflections on the surface of water, glass, reflecting from the surface of leaves, and even in the blue sky. Polarized light often makes objects appear shiny. The use of a polarizing filter can reduce this, and will help saturate the colors, particularly in landscapes that contain foliage and a vast blue sky. Polarizers are very important filters and will retain information during image capture that is normally lost and cannot be recovered in post processing. QUICK FILTER ATTACHMENT TO YOUR CAMERA The revolutionary MagFilter provides a simple, clean and effective solution to mount your favorite filter on your camera. It is the most innovative and unobtrusive filter solution for point and shoot and high end compact cameras. The MagFilter system uses a thin, low profile metal adhesive ring attached to the front of the camera lens, that still allows the lens to expand and retract into the body. When you’re ready to use your filter, the MagFilter attaches through strong magnets built into the MagFilter CPL filter body. Choose the size you need and the kit will come with the MagFilter CPL Filter along with 2 adhesive metal rings. When not in use, the MagFilter can be quickly removed, with no cumbersome unthreading, and the camera retains it’s original compact form factor. The MagFilter system adds no additional bulk, which is an important feature for maintaining the pocketability of these small high end compact cameras. SECURE ATTACHMENT The MagFilter quickly connects to the metal ring with strong magnets embedded in the MagFilter body. A grooved bevel design prevents slippage and ensures a secure bond to lock the MagFilter in place. The MagFilter’s metal filter body is anodized to ensure long lasting durability. For your convenience, a teardrop neoprene travel pouch with spring clip is provided. EASY INSTALLATION The MagFilter is easy to setup. Just attach the adhesive metal ring to the front of your camera lens and the MagFilter is ready to use. Please measure your lens to determine which size MagFilter is compatible with your camera PACKAGE INCLUDES 1 - MagFilter CPL Filter 2 - Adhesive Metal Rings (attaches to front of camera) 1 - Carrier Bag

  • Essential gear for any enthusiast
Color: 42mm
I recently bought a used RX100 M1 and as a novice photographer I have of course ended up investing the money I saved into various accessories. I already bought a screen protector and a pretty nice leather strap / case so the next level down the rabbit hole was to get a circular polarizer filter. I had forgotten what a difference a polarizer makes for outdoor shots so this gets top marks from someone who wanted an extremely user friendly polarizing filter. The magnetic ring is decently strong but I wish they included some sort of guide templates for popular cameras, since despite my best efforts I stuck the basically-permanent adhesive maybe 0.5 mm off of dead center. Also it's important to emphasize, since I saw conflicting reports, that on a RX100 camera with 28mm-equivalent lens, there is zero vignetting even if the ring is installed slightly off center. Also the attached photos are no filter vs. filter attached and rotated to maximum effect (OH YEAH: YOU WANT TO ROTATE THE FILTER! Do not assume "circular polarizer" somehow somehow negated it like I did). ... show more

  • This filter literally SAVED my new Canon G7X Mark II Camera!!!!
Color: 42mm
Soooo glad I purchased this filter because it protected my NEW camera's lens from ugly/expensive damage!!! Allow me to explain. A few months ago, I purchased a brand new Canon G7X Mark II camera and a MagFilter 42mm CPL (Circular Polarizer) Filter. I wanted the 42mm because the edges do not show in photos and videos. As a recipe developer/food blogger, I take food photos and film recipe videos for my blog, www.CornbreadMillionaire.com. Since 2014, I've used a Canon PowerShot A1100 IS and it still works GREAT. However, it was time to upgrade. I LOVE Canon so I purchased the super popular G7X MARK II. Whenever I use my G7X camera, I ALWAYS make sure the filter is on to protect the lens. WISE DECISION! Two weeks ago, I was in the kitchen working on my Green Sauce recipe and had a little accident. My new G7X Mark II camera accidentally fell "lens first" into the bowl of Green Sauce. I snatched it out before it was totally submerged and carefully cleaned the camera and filter... before removing the filter. The tightly secured filter protected the camera's lens. NOT one drop of sauce touched the lens. The sauce did not penetrate the camera either. In fact, my camera is in EXCELLENT CONDITION!! It still takes clear photos and clear videos. Hallelujah!! I could not get the filter cleaned properly so I ordered a new one. No problem. Much better than spending $600 to purchase a new G7X Mark II!!! I highly recommend purchasing this filter to protect the lens of your camera. ... show more

  • AVOID A PROBLEM
Color: 42mm
I purchased the recommended 42mm size for my Canon 9xMK II camera. Followed directions and successfully mounted the supplied adhesive metal ring (AMR) on the camera lens barrel. I then reinserted the camera battery and everything worked OK. Put the camera away and did not use it for about 2 weeks. When I next turned the camera on I got a “Lens Error, Restart Camera. Camera will turn itself off” or something to that effect. The lens would not extend at all. Checked on the Internet for solution and was successful in getting it resolved – most likely cause mentioned is dirt or sand in the lens mechanism, or having dropped the camera. NONE of these was the cause in my case – the camera was put into a padded case and sat on the self until I went to use it again. The cause was the AMR I had installed. The outside diameter of the supplied AMR is slightly larger than the OD of the portion of the lens barrel it mounts to. As previously mentioned, when originally checking the camera operation during initial installation of the AMR, everything worked perfectly. During the time the camera was NOT in use, the small portion of the AMR that overhung the end section of the lens, took a “set” on the next portion of the lens (the lens telescopes in and out of the camera body). Once this "set" occurred, the camera could not overcome the force of the AMR at the end of the lens holding it to the next section – preventing the telescoping action. GET THE LENS TO OPEN. To free my stuck lens I repeatedly tapped the side of the camera body against a table while simultaneously turning on the camera. After many repetitions, the lens did open. This was only 1 of 7 suggested cures for a stuck lens, but none of the others worked for me. There is a caution attached to this suggestion, as it could further damage the camera. My PREVENTIVE CURE. Once satisfied with the placement of the AMR on your camera, check to see if the AMR overhangs the end section of the lens when the lens is extended (mine did have an overhang). If so, very carefully remove any of the exposed adhesive, being particularly careful not to allow any of it to remain on the side of the lens barrel – as there is virtually no clearance between sliding lens barrel sections and it will surely jam if any small bits of adhesive residue are left in place and the lens is retraced. Follow the method suggested in the instructions – remove the battery – to prevent the lens from retracting while you are working on it. Be advised: these were the steps that worked for me - use your own discretion when taking any action with your own equipment as it is possible to cause harm to yourself or your equipment. ... show more

  • Best enhancement for a pocket camera.
Color: 42mm
Wow, finally a polarizer that fits my pocket camera! I do a lot of shooting with my DSLR, but there are times I can't take all my gear. So I have a Sony DSC-RX100, an advanced pocket camera that has all the same creative and manual controls that my big camera has. But, no filter attachments. I can simulate most effects in Photoshop if I need to, but you can't simulate a polarizer, and you can't get the same clarity and deep color in daylight without it. This works great. The magnetic ring stays securely on my lens, and the filter pops on and off easier than a traditional threaded ring. It holds secure. One thing- it came with two rings and no instructions. I thought at first one was for the camera and the other for the filter. But, you just apply one to the lens and the other is, I assume, a spare. Some reviewers said the filter will fall out of the supplied pouch. I don't see how that's possible if used correctly. The pouch has a top flap that overlaps the slot, you just have to make sure it's pulled over the opening, it holds securely. ... show more
