Well designed and constructed with many useful pockets and functions. Easy, multi-point adjustments allow comfortable fit. Room for a water bladder and everything else. The rain fly is a nice touch and easy to get on quickly. The pockets in the belt are the best, I can grab my phone for pictures without taking everything off. I have been shopping around for backpacks, so I've looked at several now. I have not used this backpack, I'll be returning it. But look, it's not that bad. I love all of the features it has. Notably, I like the stuff pouch. It's deep and secure on the sides with a clip on the top that you can tighten. The side pockets have an elastic band that you can tighten around whatever size bottle you have. Extra zippered compartment on the top. Nicely placed opening for the water hose. There's an extra zipper sealed spot within the secondary compartment. The hip straps feel secure and the pockets on them are useful, but don't fit my phone. Rain cover included! Straps at the bottom to hold extra gear, sleeping bags or pads. It's spacious and I really like it. Issues - the pack has very little structure or support. There's some foam and air gaps, and it's not uncomfortable, but it arrived completely folded in half, so that says something. 4 stars because (I haven't used it, can't evaluate the long term quality) the whole thing feels kinda cheap. The buckles/clips/zippers seem ok, but the fabric feels flimsy. For the price, might be worth it. Personally, I've decided it's too large for my needs, and I will splurge a little and go with something higher quality next. ... show more

First, this pack costs roughly $40, so keep that in mind. That said, I've hiked around 50 miles with it and I have to give it a lot of credit. It's comfortable, it's balanced, it holds everything I need it to hold and it seems to have everything all in one bag: - elastic cords down the front, which is great for keeping fleece or rain jacket handy; loops on each side for hiking poles with bungee straps to keep them secured; a very large pocket for a hydration bladder and 2 oversized webbed pockets on each side that hold larger water bottles ; zipper pockets on each side of the waist straps; it has an integrated rain cover; pads running vertically down the back that straddle your spine, and it has plenty of interior pockets for storage. I've hiked in all kinds of weather with it - sun, rain, snow, hot arid climates, hot humid climates, deserts, forests. Between Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, North Carolina, Florida...I've seen it all with this pack and it's taken all of quite well. All that said, this is NOT a high end, technical pack that I would take on a multi-day expedition. However, it you're doing an out-and-back and have to carry a lot of water and "stuff" to be prepared for whatever mother nature can and will throw at you in a day in the mountains, then I'd say this bag will do the trick and no break the bank. ... show more
