Probably the most comfortable lined shorts I've ever owned. I have chubbies, birddogs, maamgic, ten thousand, you name it I've tried it. These would be great workout shorts but honestly these are my new daily drivers. They are the softest material on any short I've owned and they feel truly like butter. These are great shorts. I cannot deduct 1/2 star, but my only complaint is that the waistband elastic is not very hefty and it does roll down on me. That probably doesn't happen on slimmer folks so I wouldn't say it's a big deal, but I do have many shorts where it does not roll down so I notice that variation a lot with my various collection of sweats/shorts/swimsuits. I really like zippers a lot, and this has one on each side and one in the back. I look for that feature because I hate things falling out of my pockets. The left pocket has a small internal pocket sewed in as well. The compression liner is great, it's very lightweight and non-constrictive and has a super cool side pocket as well, large enough for most phones, and it's only accessible by lifting up the let. The outer fabric is very comfortable and light weight as well, and I kind don't notice it much at all. Like I said the elastic in the waistband is pretty thin, but there's a drawstring with metal aglets crimped on the ends to keep them secure. The stitching is very good quality with no loose ends hanging out. The hem is very secure, and the front is sewn to resemble a fly but there is no opening. I got these for my husband and he indicates the sizes seem to run small. Part of that may be that the inner layer is a compression layer so it's supposed to be tight but he felt he could go up a size. The waistband does roll down as others have indicated. It's easy to wash and they look nice. They have lots of pockets which made him happy. He was unsure if he was supposed to wear underware with them? Perhaps that is something that others know full well and he should be expected to know, but neither of us could figure it out. If you're wearing the compression layer, do you skip the undies? ... show more

Another solid offering by "maamgic"! I own a few pairs of this brand of shorts - they're all super comfortable & stitched very well. It's no different with this pair of shorts. Both the shorts & the liner have 4 way stretch to them. The shorts move with you as you're working out or on the go. They have 3 zippered pockets (2 side, 1 rear) & they're big + comfortable enough to hold a wallet, phone & my keys. I love the pattern & color of these shorts. The subtle blue pattern on the outside & the light blue liner complement each other very well. The liner does ride up a bit so if you're hesitant to pick these up because of that pop of color, one deep squat & they won't be visible anymore. Overall, I'm very happy with these shorts & would happily recommend them to friends & family. 5/5 ... show more

These shorts are great. I mostly wear lined shorts in my workouts, but this is my first try with this brand. First off, read the sizing chart. I wear a 35-36" waist and I ordered the XXL, which fit perfectly. My vanity wishes that was considered a "Large"...but either way, the size chart was accurate and I'm happy with the shorts. The material is soft and super stretchy, so perfect for workout movements. All the stitching seems well done and even the draw strings are of high quality. So I was shocked when I saw these shorts listed on Amazon with the size chart seeming almost impossible to believe. I have a 36 waist and always wear a size Large. Using the size chart, though, I would need an XXL, the largest size they offered. I couldn't believe it! I've never been an XXL in anything. So, with disbelief, I followed their size chart and ordered an XXL...and I'm glad I did. The size chart is spot on so forget about whatever size you normally wear and just follow the chart. As far as the actual shorts...they are made of polyester and spandex and they do feel quite comfortable to wear. The inner lining is white and is non-constricting. Although not a fan of zippered pockets in my exercise shorts, this pair does have them. There is a subtle pattern to the material, best observed in the lighter colored pair of shorts. Overall, despite being pricy, these really are a quality pair of shorts, Recommended....but make sure to follow the Size Chart precisely. Recommended ... show more

These are ideal shorts for my workouts. The first thing you notice is that they are super soft and comfortable. I think these are tailored for trimmer fit people and the inseam is 5". I prefer that but some may prefer longer inseam so please note the length. As for the shorts themselves they are soft and comfortable. The liner is excellent and has a secure pocket for a phone. They also have external deep zippered pockets. They also have a drawstring waist in addition to the elastic. I have worn these now twice since receiving them and they exceeded my expectations. The price is reasonable for them. They get the job done, look good and feel great. 5 stars ... show more

My waist size is approximately 31” which falls between L and M on the sizing chart. I went with the L because I wanted the slightly longer out seam length and the manufacturers recommendation on the sizing chart was to go up if you’re on the cusp. The L fit me fine, possibly slightly baggy because of my slim build. The liner is not too snug. Maybe would have been tighter had I gone with the M. Dark gray color with the white liner looks nice. Zippered pockets seem to be a con in some of the other reviews, but personally, I like them. Overall not a bad pair of workout shorts. ... show more
