They were packed very well. I always wash new clothing and bedding items before use. This type of sheets do require a little more care washing and drying than cotton sheets, gentle cycle wash and cool air drying. Coming out of the package they felt a little stiff. As to sleeping and overall feel, which is probably why you are reading this review, I find these very similar to silk. They are light weight, as to feel, and, similar to silk, are woven from thread which is spun with extremely fine fibers. To clarify, silk can be woven to appear shiny and slick or natural, as found in men's shirts and other clothing items. I will always be buying these from here on out!
