I love the quaint, rustic, sorta’ artifact look of this clay pitcher. It is versatile in that it can be used in the kitchen to add an olde worlde look as an accessory only or it can be used as a floor vase, or as a corner table vase with a small floral arrangement. It also looks good on top of a short bookcase, and between or on top of a stack of books. I like it sitting all alone on a corner table, but it is also striking with a floral arrangement. It is not suitable for fresh flowers where water is needed because it is not glazed. It is a good conversation starter, and you are bound to be asked, “Is it old?” It has little pads on the bottom to keep surfaces on which it sits from being marred. This is a beautiful, rustic pitcher/vase. It is for decoration, not for food use. The description says it can be used for dry or fresh flowers—I’m hesitant to use it for fresh flowers because I am unsure whether the interior glaze would hold up to being filled with water.

This was a very interesting vase/pitcher, but it came broken twice with no packing material in the box. This was not Amazon's fault as the outer box was fine. The vase was in a separate inner box with no packing material.

This is a wonderful vase. I love its classic shape, rustic texture, and neutral white color. There are multiple places within my home where this vase fits perfectly -- in fact, I can't decide where to put it because I love the way it looks just about everywhere I try it out. I've tried it on the dining table, entry table, mantle, windowsill, coffee table and on a book shelf. Where will its permanent home be? Hmmmm... decisions, decisions. The outer white clay has such a beautifully rustic texture. It looks like an antique found at Round Top or some other antiques fair. I love the terra cotta spots that show from underneath the white surface. They are such perfect imperfections. I had trouble deciding which size to choose; I ended up deciding on the 8.25-inch vase just because I its classic rounded shape and narrow neck were pleasing to my eyes. The opening at the top is narrow, which serves to hold a bouquet of flowers in a nice shape rather than allowing them to fall haphazardly. The vase has a nice heft to it; it definitely looks and feels like terra cotta. Overall, this vase is not huge or shiny or brightly colored, yet it stands out -- but in a quiet way. It is versatile, with a lovely shape and a terrific rustic texture. Its versatile size and color allow it to beautifully accent a variety of different spaces in your home. ... show more
