  • Great drum kit!
Product was very nice. Wrapped and packed well everything damage free. It seems sturdy and sounds nice for a 250 dollar drum set. Cymbals aren’t great but the fact that it comes with cymbal stands and cymbals for 250 is cool too I’ll just upgrade the cymbals later. I could see how it could be hard to assemble but i had no problems putting it together since I’ve assembled drum kits before. If you never have it comes with a link to instructions online. For a beginner and young child I think it’s an awesome set and there are some cool beginner lessons from Questlove himself in link also! ... show more

  • Perfect pocket kit
Great kit for both me (age 35) and my 3 year old budding percussionist and our relatively small practice space. Great value since it comes with everything (even a throne). We added Remo silent stroke heads and Zildjian low volume cymbals (and 2 mapex stands in matching black hardware) and it's the perfect volume for our house. ... show more

  • Great little drum set!
Very professional but small enough for kids.

  • Excellent value for the price
For the price, this children's drum kit is an excellent value. With the help from an experienced drummer, this kit assembled and tuned pretty easily within a few hours. Many nice touches include memory locks for the cymbal arm, tom rack, and kick drum legs. There was also a tub of thread lubricant for the lugs and a nice rubber protector pad where the kick pedal attaches to the kick drum. These are not components that you would expect to find on an inexpensive set of drums. The drum heads were not a perfect fit to the shells but with a bit of effort, were able to be tuned reasonably well. With a bit of time fine-tuning things, the kit sounds good. The tuning really made all the difference. Although we didn't use the video to tune the set, the pocket school video instructions are definitely helpful for someone who may not be accustomed to performing this task and are an added bonus for this set. The included cymbals are not of the highest quality but are on par with what I'd expect for the price of the kit. These could be swapped out later as my daughter grows into the kit. All in all, I personally don't think that you can go wrong with this beginner children's kit as it sounds great for the reasonable cost. ... show more

  • Not Bad
You get what you pay for, and well....this thing is NOT anywhere near to a professional kit BUT it sounds half decent and is quite small - which is why I got it - and is about as cheap as your gonna get, so depends what you are looking for. I finally have a garage for the first time since I was young and really wanted to play again in a small space, but not throw down a bunch of money so this was perfect. Gotta say, I love it for this purpose - and they really don't sound too bad if you do some tweaking . As others have noted the cymbals are cheap as all hell - and so is the hi hat stand. For now, they are fine as I get warmed up - but for sure am going to have to round this out with some proper cymbals sooner than later as it kind of puts a damper on both playability and enjoyment of playing these things. The heads are fine until I bust them, but I'd imagine it will sound even better once those are upgraded as well so.... UPDATE: So I bought new cymbals and a proper ride stand and gotta say, not as impressed with this thing much at this point. When I play the ride with mallets the included hardware makes some strange noises that I can't get rid of and is not the case with a properly built added boom cymbal stand. The hi-hat is so cheap it keeps slipping and gonna want/need to upgrade with either a proper clutch or whole new pedal since the action on it is pretty damn bad as well. I've got a slightly larger normal snare I was hoping to use that will not really fit in the provided snare stand - and not gonna dish out more for that hardware as well. So in the end, if you are serious about having a decent kit that you will play for a while - probably just dish out a little more from the start. If you are not sure if you or your young one want to play - this is a great deal to start with and sounds almost like a real kit, but at this point I could see getting a whole new kit in a couple years since I do enjoy playing and this thing is seriously limited for serious playing. ... show more

  • The starter kit you can be proud of
I got this kit for the kiddo who's been expressing an interest in rhythm AND enjoying watching Questlove guest appearances on kids shows. A perfect pairing. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and spent years in bands and so am familiar with the kind of drumkit a typical punk kid would drag around to shows, and the pocket kit is just as good. I think the cymbals are the weakest link, but that's expected, plus I think it'll be a fun thing to explore saving money and upgrading later on. For the price and convenience, this is an insane deal. Don't hesitate to pick one up if it sounds like the right fit for you. ... show more

  • Sounds Really Good For Under $300
This drum set was so worth the price. It's sounds really good, especially for the price. I highly recommend this drum set for a beginner or someone who just wants a decent drum set that is small and sounds great. And as a big adult, it's not so small, like a clown drum set small, but just right for a small size, if that makes sense. ... show more
