Description

LUBEGARD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) PROTECTANT is for use in all automatic transmissions and manuals requiring an ATF, including heavy duty transmissions, such as Allison. Use with all synthetic or mineral based DEXRON, MERCON & OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) ATF’s (except Ford Type F ATF & CVT applications). Lubegard controls heat and is especially effective in today’s hotter running front wheel drive vehicles. It contains LXE (Liquid Wax Ester) Technology and their derivatives, base oils and conventional additives. Lubegard is designed to raise the thermal and oxidative stability level of automatic transmission fluids, so when it operates at elevated temperatures, it does not thin out and pyrolize, burn or react with oxygen and form deposits. The use of LUBEGARD ATF Protectant will not cause clutch friction upset or slippage. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For normal applications, add 1 oz. (29. 6 mL) per quart (Liter) of ATF to the total transmission capacity (including torque converter) with motor idling in park. Do not overfill.

I read about sperms whale oil used to be used in automatic transmissions and that was the gold standard for transmissions the hunting of whales was banned. Lubegard came up with a patented synthetic replacement the call LXE technology. I read good stuff so put it in my 2004 Honda With 92k miles and 1 transmission oil change. This improved everything about my granny. Smoooth shifts car seems to have more power (less friction?) I had zero problems with it before lubegard but it's just silky smooth now. It doesn't take much 1oz per total fill of transmission fluid. I will reapply it next tyranny fluid change ... show more

USED IN MY HYUNDAI WITH 112K MILES. DID A DUMP AND FILL WITH NEW VALVOLINE SYNTHETIC FLUID... ADDED THIS STUFF AT THE SAME TIME... WAS HONESTLY SUPRISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION IMMEDIATLY STARTED SHIFTING LIKE NEW. WAS IT THIS STUFF OR THE NEW FLUID? EITHER WAY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

MADE SO MUCH DIFFERENCE. Ok — so I got my original transmission on my 2010 Honda Odyssey at 293,000 miles, and the gears were getting a little rough as it neared being due for a change. I changed the transmission fluid with Valvoline Max Life and it did a lot of wonders, but it wasn’t perfect. Which is fine, 293k miles, what do you expect? That last gear shift down was still rough but everything else was buttery smooth. Last drain and fill, I added this to it. I was careful of the 1oz per quart .. and at first, there was no difference. About 100 miles in, the hard shift was gone. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to drive. The transmission is smooth that you can only hear it shift versus feeling it. With now over a thousand miles more on the 3 drain and fills with Lubegard as the last top up, it’s as good as ever. Old girl is ready for more long road trips! I know the recommendation is to not mix lubegard and valvoline max life but again, my van is close to 300k on original transmission and it was starting to shift hard anyway. I was taking a gamble either way, and it paid off. But I would only do this on a transmission so old you’re like “well, if it fails, it fails.” ... show more

    • Fixed shudder for 3rd gen rav4

Used in conjunction with the instant shudder fix to try and fix a shudder in my 3rd gen RAV4. Did a transmission drain & fill, filter change, and added about an ounce of this with the instant shudder fix. First shudder went down about 95% for around 5 miles, then completely gone. I only did an ounce due to some reviews saying more at a time causes gear slippage, so I’ll add it as it seems needed. I plan on doing another drain & fill in a month or so to slowly change out the fluid, (I’m not sure if it was done prior to me owning the car), so I’ll add another tube of the shudder fix and another ounce of this. ... show more
