I really like the helmet but the fit is just terrible. The stitching on the liner is thicker than the foam and rubs on my forehead. The fit is good, the liner is just terrible with thick seams that are sewn together. After some research I found out that LS1 uses the same helmet for extra small, small and medium helmets, they just put a different liner in it for each size. If you wear a Medium helmet like I do the liner is paper thin with thickly sewn seams that bulge out well past the foam. It's like having a thick shoelace constantly grinding against my forehead. I ended up cutting the seams out of the liner and taped the foam padding together. As for the venting, the vents on top don't seem to do much of anything. I can ride at highway speeds with the vents open and not notice much of anything. My Bell helmet on the other hand has air flowing all through the vents. This could be a good thing though, the helmet is fairly quiet with very little wind noise. The shield fogs up pretty easily but there's a detent just before it's all the way down so you can open the shield just enough to get some airflow. I was looking for a helmet for city/suburban (<= 40mph), and feature-wise somewhere between my half-helmet and my full-face modular. This one checked a lot of my boxes Pros: + Fits my intermediate-oval (8.13"L x 5.65"W), 22.75" circumference melon very nicely; cheeks are snug but not too tight; + Excellent ventilation (I live in Texas); + Drop-down sun shade eliminates the need for me to switch between glasses/sunglasses/tinted goggles; + Flip-up shield eliminates the need for my goggles (I have no tolerance for wind in my eyes); + Quick-release, PADDED chin strap; + Removeable lining. Cons: - The heat and UV warnings attached to the helmet make me somewhat concerned about the durability of the shell and especially of the EPS. Only time will tell. - I wish the sun shade would come down about a half-inch further, or it did NOT have the nose cut-out. I can live with it, though. - A little bulbous ("mushroom") looking but not excessively so. I expected this in a drop-down inner shield helmet. - I suspect it may be noisy, but I don't care because I always wear ear plugs. ... show more

First ordered an XL size per measurement table. Was way too tight. Returned and ordered a XXL. Still too tight, pressing my face and head and could barely put on with my glasses on. Returned as well.

I wanted to buy this helmet for summer riding since it is open faced. I also really liked the sun visor feature and the matte black finish. I measured my head, per instructions and it was 22 inches and some change. That placed me at the medium size. So I ordered and eagerly awaited.... Helmet is WAY TOO tight. My head felt like it was being crushed and I know I would get a headache in a few minutes if I wore it. I can only assume these helmets are produced somewhere in Asia where sizes are quite different from U.S. sizes. Needless to day, I didn't even bother trying this on my motorcycle. I did not want a full-face helmet so this one caught my eye. It fits really well, snug, but not too tight. My head measurement is 23 1/8" so I ordered the large size. I can spread the sides a little and put the helmet on over my glasses and while wearing doesn't interfere with my glasses. The face shield works well. Very clear with full range for vision. The sun shield is an added plus and is easy to deploy while riding with the lever on the left side of the helmet. I also really like the quick release chin strap. Beats the old D rings hands down.     • Gives me Fish Lips

Wondering if there are different cheek pads. I have a 1Storm 3/4 Helmet in large and the cheek pad squeeze my checks tight, so I ordered this one in XL. But I think the cheek pads are even tighter on it, makes me have fish lips. Seems that my options are: 1. See if there are thinner cheek pads available 2. Just leave them out 3. cut the padding out and glue on another fabric. 4. Just give up on 3/4 helmets all together. Update: I took the cheek pads out, cut a section of stitching out and then cut 65% of the foam out and then sewed the cloth back together. Fits a lot better now, may need some more removal behind the ears. ... show more
