The LP Vibra-Slap was the first of numerous patents granted to Latin Percussion. It has appeared in more recordings, soundtracks, and advertisements than any sound effect ever made. The Vibra-Slap was conceived as a durable replacement for the original delicate rattling horse jawbone. Sound is created when the ball end is struck against the palm of the hand. Sound can be varied simply by rotating the sound chamber. This wood version has warm crisp tones

This is a very fun percussion to add to your percussions it sounds great the only down-fall is it doesn't have a long sustain unless you learn where and how to hit it but once you figure it out it sounds awesome. I use a mic. with it and you can use it as a block with stick/cowbell sound.

    • Pretty good, but not great.
It is a good instrument. However, it lacks the impact that the larger one does and it does not last as long when you make it sound louder. As you loosen the nut and turn the bell where the vibration lives, you can change the sonority of the vibration. It is pretty good for a fact but any performance situation, you would be better off with the larger one. ... show more

Look, we were slightly inebriated at our cover band rehearsal and someone questioned if Short Skirt, Long Jacket would go over well. Since we live in the future, I pulled out my phone and had this baby delivered the DAY OF THE SHOW. Needless to say, it not only legitimized our cover of the Cake song, but also was a great bit we could use to burn time while my guitar was being tuned.
