First of all, I have to laugh at myself. I usually read the description of a product l'm considering very carefully before deciding it's something I want to order. You can imagine my surprise when instead of the 2 decks I thought I ordered, I received a box of 12. However, I like these cards a lot so I'm not unhappy at my mistake. They are definitely not flimsy but easy to handle. Quality is great and I'm loving the large print. They shuffle well and fairly even with my crank shuffler machine and slide beautifully as they are being dealt out. I see longevity of use here in that I don't think these cards will get all wimpy and soiled as my old decks did. Good mistake.

If you are using a device to shuffle the cards, this set is perfect. They are not too slippery to hold & the size of the numbers works for people who don't have young eyes anymore. I bought this to use at a card club. They have held up as good as new after six hours of playtime. Warning: do NOT buy these cards if you are going to be shuffling them manually. They are too stiff, and the coating is not slick enough to flex them. Unless you have the dexterity of a magician, you won't be able to shuffle them vertically, either. They work really well with hand-crank and battery-powered automatic shufflers.

There is a group of 6 to 8 of us that play Hand and Foot, a form of Canasta. So we need one more deck of cards than the number of people playing. Getting this many decks made sense because the cards are all the same - 6 black design and 6 red design. That leaves one deck to play Poker!
