We got the LOOBANI Dog Grass Pad with Tray mainly for apartment use and occasional patio training, and it’s been a practical solution so far. The 20×25 inch size is generous enough for small to medium dogs and gives them enough room to position comfortably. The tray design works well at keeping urine contained underneath the grass layer, which helps protect floors. I appreciate that it comes with two replacement grass pads, so there’s a backup ready while one is being cleaned or dried. Cleaning is fairly straightforward. The grass pad rinses off easily, and the tray doesn’t retain odor as long as it’s cleaned regularly. For indoor use, this is important, and overall it’s been manageable. It’s also lightweight enough to move between rooms or onto a patio when needed. Training does take some patience. While it’s helpful as a designated potty area, it’s not a magic fix — consistency and routine still matter. Once our dog understood the purpose, it became much more reliable. The only downside is that frequent users will eventually want additional replacement grass pads, as wear shows over time, especially with daily use. That said, having two included is a good start. Overall, this is a useful indoor potty option for apartment dwellers, bad weather days, or patio training. It does what it’s designed to do and has made potty management more convenient.

UPDATE: Do NOT Buy!!! After a month of use this product is GARBAGE. The ONLY part with any redeeming value at all is the plastic tray and that us worth maybe $5. Product is NOT as advertised!! The "grass" lasts maybe two days before it stinks and attracts flies and bugs. Even scrubbing down everything, including the grass mat, daily with hot soap & water followed by treating it with the top rated pet urine/poo nutralizing spray after each use does NOT work. The grass just smells worse and worse each day. If you get a week out of the grass mat you are lucky, by two weeks nothing gets the smell out and it rubs off onto your pet's paws which they then have to have scrubbed with warm soap and water before coming in the bouse or that urine smell gets on everything their paws touch. Better have the carpet cleaners on speed dial if you have carpets. After a month of trying to make these work the Pros no longer even warrant a single star. Pros: The base tray itself is of decent quality. It comes with an extra grass pad (You will absolutely need it! You will need to buy a new grass pad every two weeks max and put in daily scrubbing of this product to even get that much longevity out of a single grass mat.) Cons: THE GRASS PAD IS NOT ANTI-BACTERIAL/ANTI-MICROBIAL as the listing claims!!!! It is just basic, cheap, synthetic turf. This means that unless you are scrubbing this product down daily with hot soap and water the turf WILL smell like dog pee and rotten fish after only a couple of days use. Even if you immediately pick up all solids (Poop) and blot up liquids (pee) with a paper towel follow by spraying the area with a biologic neutralizing spray. After 1 week's use with everything including the grass having been scrubbed down with hot soap and water, soaked in a bath of the same, and sprayed with a pet safe odor neutralizer the grass mat still smells bad enough I would not want it in my house at all. We keep ours on a covered porch out of the weather completely but outside to make sure the dog knows to go outside to use the bathroom. Cleaning this thing is frankly a pain in the arse and so time consuming it is almost not worth it. It takes forever to soak and scrub out the grass in an attempt to get the smell out or at least knock it down a bit. Scrubbing it, even by hand with a soft bristle auto detailing brush to work down between the blades of grass, is causing the grass to fall out, and the mat to fray along the edges. The quality is frankly GARBAGE. But by far the worst part is that the smell NEVER comes out! Also, if you do not dry the entire system using the dog dryer or a leaf blower after washing, including the grass, then the grass never dries out, even sitting in the sun all day, which leaves your pet tracking wet footprints everywhere. It is even worse once your dog has "used" the mat a few times and their pee has puddled in the base because even with the quarter inch tall plastic dimple mat in the pan itself the grass pad matting still seems to soak up any liquids out of the base tray and get pee all over any part of your pet that touches the grass! which means you are washing and drying your pet's paws after every trip to the "restroom", or worse yet the entire dog if they decide to lounge on the mat itself. IF this system actually used a microbial coated grass mat like they claim this would be an "ok" system (3 out of 5 stars) but as it is I can not recommend it, nor will I be purchasing any further systems or replacement grass mats from this vendor. Especially not when you can go to almost any hardware store that sells synthetic lawns and get actual realistic looking and feeling grass, WITH long term guaranteed actual anti-microbial/biologic coatings, for about the same price as buying this vendor's replacement grass product. If you are like me and are willing to save yourself some money in the long run then go to the local hardware store that sells plumbing and yard supplies. pick up a plastic shower pan that is sized for your pet(s) usage need, a section of plastic dimple or hollow tube drainage mat sized to fit in the shower pan you're purchasing, and then a section of synthetic lawn with MicroBan or similar coating sized to fit inside your shower pan on top of the drainage mat. It may cost you a bit more initially than this vendor's product but it will last A LOT longer than this product, will look much nicer, your pets are more likely to want to use it, and it will be easier to keep clean and smell free, This is my plan once the second included grass mat has to be tossed due to the smell, probably a week or so from now. Definitely regret this purchase, even more-so that I bought two (one for each porch front and back).

It works in the sense that my dogs pee on it. The pee pads underneath it make that portion of cleanup easy. However, the way the mats are constructed makes it impossible to get all the urine and feces out of it. I have scrubbed it, hosed it down, sprayed it with pet friendly enzymatic cleaners, soaked it in Castile soap, everything I could think of short of soaking it in bleach water. Nothing gets the smell out. I live in a condo, so I don’t have any outdoor space to hardcore hose it down and lay it out to dry, so whatever I can do in my bathroom is pretty much it. If your dog uses pee pads without any issue, this is a waste of money. If your dog needs a transition from grass to pee pads, I suppose this would be helpful, but you’ll get maybe 2-3 months out of this, max, before they get so smelly that you can’t stand it anymore.
