  • Best Small Hang On Stand Period!
I used a Summit climber for year before finally getting this LW hang on and climbing sticks. While I have nothing but good stuff to say about the Summit climbers, their biggest drawback (as with any climbing stand) is the limited amount of trees you can get into. Having a hang on with climbing sticks allows you to get into almost any tree which could be the difference in any hunt. This LW Assault is not perfect, and I would recommend some minor modifications, but it is hands down the best hang on stand I've ever used out of the box. PROS: Absolutely dead silent in the tree. Extremely lightweight. Incredibly easy to hang. Feels rock solid when hung. CONS: A bit pricey (unless you watch the price daily and get it for well under $200 like I did) The seat is not very comfortable for all day sits. Needs better backpack straps (Preferably padded, especially if you're packing it in with 3 or 4 climbing sticks mounted to it as well). Recommendations & Modifications: Skip on getting the EZ Hang hook. It's only good for perfectly straight trees, and even then only saves you about 30 seconds of time. If you plan for all day sits, I'd suggest getting the Alpha Tech seat pad or some other thicker pad of some kind to sit on. Definitely invest in some better backpack straps, like a MOLLE harness with a waist belt, or just something that is nice and padded. ... show more

  • Faulty safety belt, triple check everything before you go up in a tree.
Like the headline says, I checked everything out before ascending to an appropriate tree. Product seemed great, well made and super light. After going through the manual, checking all the parts out, trying it on a tree low to the ground, and them climbing to install, I set it up and the safety belt did not work. I believe the spring on the belt either popped off, or broke once I applied pressure. The platform gave way and it was pretty scary. The belt material seems pretty tough but the part that bites and holds did not work once up in the tree. I like the stand and everything but this was unfortunate and lucky nothing bad happened thanks to my safety gear. I'd like to return the belts but that is proving difficult... ... show more

  • portable and comfortable with a few adjustments
Great stand! Feels sturdy in the tree, light weight to carry through the woods. I would attached my old military rucksack frame with zip ties and makes this much easier to carry through the woods. You can find the frame for sale on amazon for around $20. My hunting friend bought one after he seen my setup. You can also buy these straps for a rucksack or sacrifice an old backpack. ... show more

  • Worth the money!
I’ve used this stand over and over the past hunting season. Having this type of stand changed the way I hunt. I have several traditional hang on stands perminatly placed on my hunting property, and always go back to the same spot over and over. This year I changed my hunting tactics and decided to be mobile. I had more first time sits and I saw more deer this year than ever. What I like most about the Assault is the light weight and versatility. I paired the assault with 3 LW climbing sticks. I attached the stand and sticks to my exo mountain frame. With that set up, I could walk where ever I wanted and hunt almost any tree I wanted. I hunted the deer vs hunting a claimable tree first, then hunt the deer from a crappy spot. I hunt a lot of walk in only public land and with the light weight set up, I walked back 2-3 miles and barley notice the weight. I can put my stand up within 10 min and pack it up with in 15. Pros: light weight and can attach to almost any tree. Cons: buckles are noisey. Look up YouTube videos on how to silence them or use ropes on the climbing sticks. ... show more

  • Recommend you tube mods after purchase
Magically Lightweight. Clearly filled with helium and forged by elves from Rivendale middle earth. One stand to rule them all. Just enough sq ft to be effective light and mobile. Recommend viewing youtube mods after purchase

  • Lightweight, easy setup, great stand!
So far I've used this for about a month of hunting in a variety of locations and situations. It is incredibly easy to carry, both because of the weight (or lack thereof) and size. I can carry this into brushy areas without getting hung up and hike in a mile or more, if needed, without getting worn out badly. Hanging the stand with the strap system is easy, because of the weight of the stand. It holds securely to the tree with the batwing brackets digging in solidly. The seat is ok. It's not like sitting in recliner, but I can sit about 3-4 hours before I start having to stand / shift around for a good amount of time. So far, I'm incredibly pleased that I switched from an old steel hang-on stand. ... show more

  • Very nice stand
High quality stand, works great. It's a little pricey though. I'll try to be critical about a couple of things. I wonder why they ship a thin cushion and sell a thick cushion as an upgrade. At $250 a stand, the thick cushion should be an option in the base price. Another critique, seems like everyone online tries to wrap the front of the deck to help deaden noise. They could ship it with a solution for that. ... show more

  • Great stand
Love my assault stand. Wish the straps it came with for a backpack were a little better will be ordering the aftermarket ones lol. Very light to put into the tree. I use mine like a climber putting it up and taking it down each time. If you plan on that buy the quick hanging strap to make things much more easy. Not best for late season only because your hands freeze by the end of the day trying to take it down. And just practice and see what you would change took me 45 mins to set up my first time but if you could bring your sticks and stand all up at once and never come back down would be more like 10 mins. Don't really like the bow holder it's ok but really low and gets in the way of your feet. Now if you plan on sitting all day not sure if this is the stand. I have trouble sitting all day in a summit viper this would be a little rough on you in my opinion. But everyone is different I got the stick quiver with it and if you wanna get into some nasty trees with thick stuff this is the stand I was about 15 feet high . First time so I put my steps closer then I would like. It's a public land dream. You can get into places no one else wants to . ... show more
