I'm really pleased with this purchase, and for the price you can't go wrong. The pictures dont do it justice. I read of others complaining that the leather scratches easy, which is true, because its a piece of aniline leather. Aniline leather is a type of leather that is dyed using soluble dyes which penetrate the leather to showcase the natural texture and markings of the hide. This achieves the desired color of the leather while still retaining all the natural characteristics of the hide. That's what makes this such a beautiful piece of leather. There are scares, markings, wrinkles, and color variations that would normally get covered up if there was a coating. The lack of coating is what makes it so soft, lush, and pliable. I treated mine with a coat of Leather Honey. I should of took a before and after, but forgot to. I'm glad it didn't change the color that much, if anything it added more depth of color, and a nice sheen. This will help protect it if any liquid gets spilled on it. If you do get a scratch, a little swipe of the side of your nose to get some oil on your finger, then rub it out circularly takes care of the scratch. You may have to baby it a little, but to have a piece of genuine leather like this and the rich look it creates, its well worth it. I could of gotten a PU (fake) leather and not have to baby it, but none would even come close to the look and feel this has. I just love the smell and look of genuine leather. This will truely become a heirloom.

Mouse and keyboard work great on it. I'm a designer and spend a lot of time at computer and this was a major improvement to workflow and comfort. This is real leather which is essential for comfort on skin of arms. I previously ordered and returned a synthetic leather mat because it resulted in gross sweaty arms due to plastic nature of the material. I usually don't write reviews but genuinely and happy with this purchase so thought I'd share in case someone out there is doing research and trying to make a decision. Comfy. Useful. Stylish. 11/10

This is a quality piece of leather, good color, that fits perfect on my desk. I wanted something to go along with a high end desk I have so things don's scratch the surface and this fit my budget and expectations perfectly. The packaging was good, and it arrived on time. Looks like it does in the picture. This would get an easy 5 stars if it was a bit cheaper. It's literally a piece of leather, with a stamp and light embroidery I was expecting a bottom side of microfiber or a nice boarder for the price.
