  • Logic Pro Encyclopedia
I purchased Edition 1 in 2014 and have relied on it over the years. Have an older iMac that will support up to Logic 10.6.3. I just purchased Edition 3 to help a friend with a newer iMac that is running Logic 10.8.1. Another reviewer stated if you contact the author he will provide a large file that contains all of the images in the book, except this file is an upgrade to color with higher resolution. So today I contacted the author Graham English requesting this file containing the color images and he responded promptly and sent them. The book was already a great value, but with Graham sending the file at no additional charge it became an incredible value. It's all laid out in a format that is easy to understand and it's all in one place. If you're serious about learning and using Logic Pro, this book is a must have. Bravo Mr. English! ... show more

  • Husband loves the info he absorbed from this book
This helped my 70+ year old hubby put out videos on YouTube: "Gordon and Jim Original songs." Every video gets better. Highly recommend. Keeps he and my brother very busy!!! :)

  • Bought it just in time for Logic 11 to come out. Oh well
But most of the functionality is still the same, it's mostly the AI features that have been added so it is useful. Kind of textbook like -which is not a complaint.

  • Logic Pro people: This is IT.
Don't waste time & $ on any other source. Mr. English writes clearly, concisely and never condescending-in the sense he doesn't simply assume you can understand all this. As an old guy who's been writing for an age, though I had Logic a couple of iterations ago, it's different and better. My problem was: I got the job done but I didn't really know how! AUX channels and their use was outside my scope of knowledge. Logic is a very forgiving program so I "got away" with just forging ahead, keep writing and hope for the best. I don't have that kind of time anymore. Graham takes you by the shoulder, saying: "How cool is this ?", again with no condescension or assumptions . I consider this to be my "beginners mind" as the yogis have it. You can part with 30 bucks for this. You don't know me, but believe me anyway. Obviously Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Horrible print quality
Nothing against the written content or the knowledge of the fine author. The print quality of the graphics is unreadable. A pale blurred black and white graphic on low quality almost news print paper. The text in the graphics is just about unreadable. I wasn't expecting magazine quality but this is a joke. ... show more

  • New to Logic?
Excellent book to get your feet wet in the world of music production. I have to agree with the other reviews that the images are less than stellar for a product released in 2023. However, if you contact the author Graham English and provide proof that you actually purchased the book he will be more than happy to send you a rather large file (zipped of course) of full high resolution color snapshots of the the images in the new book. I am new to recording and this book and these new images are a godsend! Do yourself a favor and send him an email to get the images. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Best I've Found!
I've been working with Logic Pro about 18 months. I've done lots performance quality A/V installation work but this a "detail rich" environment to say the least. This book provides the most direct, clearest "how to" explanations of the steps required to get things done correctly, the first time.

  • Mistitled
This book is mis-titled and poorly marked. It's not "Logic Pro for Dummies." It's "Logic Pro for people who already know how to use some other brand of DAW and want to switch to Logic Pro." I wish I could find "Logic Pro for people who know how to use a tape recorder." Unfortunately this is not that book. If that is what you are seeking then keep looking. ... show more
