Description

“LOAD HANDLER GRADALL LOED MATERIALS HANDLER” This book is about the development of the LOED material handler and the growth of the Gradall material handler business. With his book, the author uses a series of stories describing the history of the companies and products that were the foundation for the LOED Handler. The former DROTT companies of Wisconsin were that foundation that led to the design of the successful LOED Handler product line. The Mack name is to trucks what the DROTT name is to crawler tractor attachments, hydraulic carrydeck cranes, hydraulic excavators, and shooting boom material handlers. In the early 1970’s the LOED Corporation was one of the pioneers in the manufacture of the shooting boom material handlers. The Gradall Division of the Warner & Swasey Company acquired the LOED Handler product line in 1982 and introduced these machines with a brand name that would continue their market recognition, the “Gradall LOED Materials Handler.” This new product line for Gradall gained momentum in the 1980’s and exploded in sales in the 1990’s. With a reputation of productivity and versatility, the Gradall material handler would excel to become a major share holder of the U.S. material handler market. And for many North American customers the blue material handler built by Gradall would be the “Load Handler” of choice. The detailed and historical text of this four-color book is supported by an appendix of charts and a gallery of photographs of the equipment manufactured by the DROTT Manufacturing Corporation, the LOED Corporation, Gradall Industries and JLG Industries.
