    • Still working after two months
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Small
So far, so good. I attached this to a post in the yard, and it’s been out in the rain for a couple months- still retracts.

    • Very pleased.
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Medium
I've been using mine several times daily for about a month now, and have been very pleased with it's performance. I removed the bracket from mine (easy to do) and attached it to a swivel on a dog run. Now my Beagle can easily wander off into the bushes to do his business without getting tangled up like he did when using the slack-line I had on there previously. One thing I did not like initially is that my kids would let it retract on it's own after unclipping the beagle. I was trying to come up with a way to install some type of stop on the cable, so that about 7 feet would stay outside the reel. Then I realized there is a small rubber grommet on the cable that can be slid up and down to stop the cable from retracting at any point along it's length. As mentioned in the description, this works best with a harness rather than a collar, as the tension is quite high (I probably should have purchased the small dog version). ... show more

    • Tangle free tie out
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Medium
I've been us using this retractable dog tie out for about a month now. It has been very helpful and useful to keep my dog from becoming Tangled in the wire. Some complaints about it would be it's only 15 ft. I know it's very clear about this in the write-up but it's very short and doesn't offer her a whole lot of space. The whole point of this was to give her a lot more room to move. I'm going to upgrade to a different one at 30 ft. However, this one seems to be well made and sturdy. ... show more

    • Exactly 20ft and semi-sturdy but no tangles!
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Medium (Pack of 2)
Originally we would let out dogs in our yard on what I thought was about 20ft of rope. They would get tangled on the tree the rope was attached to and each other. Now, they don’t get tangled on anything which is a huge relief. The retractable leashes don’t get tangled on anything and they seem to mount pretty sturdily to a deck post despite the mounting screws being pretty short. When the leads retract, the retracting mechanism is a little loud but that’s about it. It freely rotates when pulled in any direction. My only complaint is that I wish I measured the yard better. I would’ve probably picked a product with 30ft of length instead. ... show more

    • A good product, if you can weld, otherwise it's garbage
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Large
If I didn’t work with plenty of people who can weld and have the equipment I wouldn’t have taken the chance on buying this item because of the numerous other reviews about the bad weld on the mounting bracket. They proved correct: it took mine 3 months before it broke, and not even from the dog pulling on it but from when I accidentlly brushed against it and the weld gave. I had a guy at work re-weld it and now it’s rock solid. All of the other aspects of the reel are pretty good. It does take some force to pull the cable out and it took my dog a minute to get used to it; and the cable isn’t very long so I put another 12 feet of rope on it so that she can have more range. If it came from the manufacturer with the weld that my guy at work put on it I’d rate it 4 or 5 stars, but since most people can’t do their own welding to make this work (and shouldn’t have to) I can’t give it anything other than 1 star. ... show more

    • Works great even in below zero temperatures
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Large
The stretch of the lead is a perfect length and sturdy enough for below zero temperatures we get in Alaska sometimes. I was afraid it might freeze up inside but it's been just fine. This is awesome, I've been looking for something like this for a long time for my dogs. It doesn't get tangled up like other dog runs we've had in the past. The tension doesn't seem to be too much for the dogs. It took them a day to figure out how it worked. =) ... show more

    • Leaves a lot to be desired.
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Small
It works I guess. Barely. Half the time the spring mechanism doesn't want to retract the cable. For the cost you would think that they would at least be of the same quality as any retractable handheld leash but it leaves a lot to be desired.

    • Good concept, base isn’t great
Pattern Name: Bracket Size: Medium
The metal isn’t very sturdy, the base bent and likely will break after a few months. The screws that were provided were cheap and stripped. The concept of the product is great and the retractable metal lead has functioned well. Concerned about when the base will break. 5 months and it won’t retract, great concept but it’s durability is garbage. I can’t even take it apart to try and fix it or replace it. ... show more
