This is such a nice little set of tools to use to make interesting and effortless watercolor backgrounds. Pressing the card onto the acrylic plate leads to all kinds of unexpected flow patterns that can serve as creative starting points for all kinds of art projects. The kit comes with an acrylic block that has a protective plastic film on each side. You might have to hunt a little bit to find an edge of the film that you can lift to peel that off. The block is a nice solid acrylic. There are also small spray bottles in two sizes, an assortment of pipettes, a few brushes and a set of postcard size cards to practice on. It will take a little bit of practice to figure out how much water spray and color drops to use to get desired effects, but that doesn’t make it any less fun even before you develop any skill with the process. Even first attempts are quite satisfying. The block is a quality tool that will last for a long time that also has its uses for other art pieces any time that you want interesting flow-based backgrounds. And if you like to send postcards or greeting cards, this is a great way to help create original patterns very easily and make the whole card making process more fun. I’m really glad I got a chance to try this out because it is going to see a lot of use in my art making processes. Very pleased.
