This is a must buy!! My 6 year old and 4 year old daughters loved these. It made a great Christmas present. They still play with the puppies. It’s a cute toy, not very loud, the puppies are soft and are a reasonable size. I believe it was a good cost for this toy.

This product is sturdy and well designed. I was impressed with the attention to details. It was easy to put together for me after the first time but she could put it back together herself with guidance. She liked banging the nails even though you can push them it. The dog fur is soft. The hard mechanism inside is in the belly. No moving parts in the limbs. The head has a "skull" The sound is not too loud and it turns off automatically. The only negative thing is with the water bowl. It doesn't secure to the house. Opening the box was a challenge. Lots of tabs to pry up. I wanted to put it back in the box after i got the instruction book. I think this toy was well worth the price and I highly recommend this if you want a well built toy with a limited number of parts that will entertain your child. ... show more

Ruff Ruff (as named by my 5 year old) has been a really fun addition to our family! He was a Christmas gift after months of begging because of a commercial. Initially I thought this was way overpriced but finally gave in and I have no regrets. My 5 year old required very little assistance in building the dog house, it comes with helpful matching letters and a cute little hammer. She loved building it and we were not quite sure how the puppy would arrive.... but he did and the look on her face was priceless!!! We quickly figured out how the mechanisms work and she has continued to have fun popping him back in and having him arrive all over again 🤣 the puppy itself makes fun sounds and surprised me with some sweet cuddly sounds when I rubbed his head. It comes with a little bone that fits in his mouth. The dog house has been moved around so over the house by multiple kids and is sturdy. My 8G and 5B each got one from Santa for Christmas. They have already gotten hours of play out of it. In theory you can disassemble and reassemble the dog house but so far they have not been interested in doing that. They HAVE reattached the dog to the tether in the ceiling so that they can "restart" the puppy by removing and reattaching the name plate, which is the trigger for the dog to drop out of the ceiling and "appear." CONS: Water dish doesn't stay attached to the dog house; the dog is LOUD and we have had to banish the dogs to the kids' rooms; the paw print/water feature is messy and annoying (it's temperature based, like another poster pointed out). Unlike the Little Live Pets Mama Surprise guinea pig, the feedback between the "owner" and "pet" doesn't *do* anything (with the guinea pig, you interact with the "mama" and then the hutch signals it's time for mama to return to the hutch so her pups can be "born). I compare the dog's feedback to a Tamagotchi -- it's making noises to keep you interacting with it, period. I'm glad they like it, since it was not an inexpensive toy at $50 ea. But I'm annoyed that I found it on Instacart via Aldi today for $30. ... show more

Got for my daughter’s 3 year birthday. Her and my 4 year old son are obsessed with this toy. The building of the house was so fun and the dog magically appearing made their day. 10 out of 10. Will probably end up buying more even though the dogs noises drive me crazy. :)

My granddaughter had a lot of fun setting this set up and sharing the surprise on several occasions. Sturdily made, the dog house was a top play item for quite a while. It also helps that the item is reasonably priced and a good value for the money.
