I ordered a shed that looked super cute online and was thrilled when I was informed it was arriving in 3 weeks instead of the 6-8 weeks they had estimated. That was the last time I was happy with the service here. Since it was arriving Fed Ex freight I called Fed Ex to make sure we could get the packages off the truck to our back yard. Fed ex asked me what kind of equipment I had. I told them 2 guys and a dolly. They said that I would need a forklift! I called back LCC where the website it says the items may need to be unbundled and 2 people can move it within 20 minutes. THey assured me I needed no forklift and all is well. Fed Ex arrived and of course the guy asks me where my forklift is. We tell him we got three guys here to unload but get the stuff to the front of the truck and we'll get moving. Once he got the stuff to the entrance fo the truck we were able to unload in about 35 minutes. Weeks later I get a bill that says I owe an additional $183 for "retention" time for Fed Ex. Needless to say this has been an absolute nightmare with months of emails and phone calls with no resolution. The customer service is abysmal here and they just pass the buck. We will never order form them again. Oh yes, and by the way, the shed is made from a crappy sub grade particle board that when it gets wet, will disintegrate. I sealed it with 4 coats of weatherproof paint plus caulk and waterproof the heck out of it but it will likely still fall apart in a few years due to moisture.

Particle board, really? All the exterior trim is made of particle board. Unless you live in the desert, this won't last one season, painted or not. Also, all the other components are made of pine which isn't ideal in wet areas like Florida. Other than that, assembly was straight forward, but not for the faint of heart, it's a big job and really requires prior carpentry knowledge (which I have). The price point is fine, other than I'll need to replace all the trim next year. I'd probably have been better off building from scratch. Pictures coming soon, not quite finished yet.

I purchased the 4x6 version of the Little Cottage Victorian playhouse with the additional deck and rails. It comes with all the necessary hardware and is relatively easy to construct (I did it in 1 day, by myself, though 2 people are nice for some of the construction and moving of the pieces). The instructions are reasonably good, though the pictures are low res and it is tough to make out details. The shipment took 2 weeks to arrive (I was told 1 week, which would have put it at our house in time for Christmas) and was missing 4 of the gingerbread corner pieces. I called to let them know I was missing pieces, and they asked me to take a picture of the missing pieces (???). So I took a picture of the house minus the 4 gingerbread corner pieces and sent it to them. Almost 3 weeks later, I have still not received the replacement pieces. I just received and email from the company saying that they shipped the replacement pieces to the wrong person and they are shipping them *again* UPS ground. So I need to waiting another week+ before I can finish the playhouse. I was willing to give a 3 star rating until the company decided to ship the second round of replacement gingerbread via ground. Now I give them a 2 star rating. It seems to me the proper customer relationship approach would be to spend a few extra dollars and ship these pieces overnight. But I guess customer service is not in the Little Cottage Company DNA. Update: Received an email today saying they were indeed shipping the missing pieces UPS Ground - priority. So all is not lost at Little Cottage Co. I have upgrade the review to 3-stars.

Overall this item is as described and well built for the most part. The instructions are horrible but anyone with some building skills will have no problem putting this together. Not all walls came labeled as the instructions imply so some basic common sense is needed in assembly. You cannot do this alone you will need another adult (wives you can help). When its finished its a great playhouse prefect for the kids in the summer and kid toy storage in the winter. We are very happy with this Playhouse and hope the kids make great memories using it.

Very bad experience with this company. I had multiple conversations prior to purchasing. I was told the panelized kit would have panels 4 feet wide. The shed arrived in 8 foot sections instead. Unloading the 6x8 panels was extremely difficult and definitely not doable with 2 people. The brochure showing the unloading process is almost ridiculous compared to reality. We had to use 4 people and even with that it was very very difficult. What’s worse is that because of our house being a row house with no direct access to the back yard, the 6x8 panels couldn’t fit through the house. I had to pay $600 for labor and materials to cut each panel in half. It appears the company decided to save a few bucks by skimping on a few extra 2x4s and decided to instead double the size of the panels. The worst part: the owner of the company, while very communicative during the sale, completely ignored me when I tried to reach him about this problem. I would not use them again. There are better companies out there than that.

This product shipped on time and was complete. The build was very easy. I love this and I can't wait to finish the inside. I've been all over home depot finding stuff to make the inside as fabulous as the outside. Love this!
