  • quiets down the mechanical fuel pump
i add this into the engine during oil change so it can quiet down the mechanical high pressure fuel pump. I've used it in the past and it does work well. noise from mechanical pump diminishes after driving about 500 miles as the product finally works itself onto the component. lasts about 1 and a half to 2 yrs. ... show more

  • Ceramatek Engine Lube
Product eliminated engine “typewriter tick” in my 2020 Mustang Bullitt. Good product. Pricey, but it works.

  • Even helps with oil burn....somehow.
I bought this product at the recommendation of an Audi dealer... The recommendation was the result of some unwanted engine noise (not the good kind). The engine was fine, however, it had a notorious noise from the engine that seemed to be impacted by oil, meaning it was somehow friction related. I had already gotten some improvement by upgrading my oil standards, and adding this to my oil changes at 15K, with a 3500 mile interval, fixed the rest. In addition, Audi's are a bit notorious for oil burn - my vehicle was no different. Unexpectedly, my oil burn stopped, engine temps dropped a bit and mileage improved (noticeably). The product is no longer EU certified for warranty, meaning they are unable to void an engine warranty for using it... As the manufacturer of Ceratec told me, the formula is absolutely the same as when it WAS certified, but they decided to stop paying the EU the exorbitant annual testing fees for what amounted to self certification. I mention this only because the product is safe for use, but I cannot guarantee that a vehicle manufacturer won't void your warranty. I've used it for years, across 6 different cars and 3 different manufacturers without a single issue. Warning: This will NOT extend the life of your oil in any way. ... show more

  • Excellent product, but do not pair with a 30 micron filter.
Cera Tec contains microscopic ceramic particles that measure 0.5 micrometers. The first time I used the product, I paired it with a Mobile 1 filter. At the following oil change, I found the Cera Tec had accumulated in the oil filter housing of my Prius engine. This demonstrates two things. First, Mobile 1 filters do indeed filter down to 0.3 micrometers, and two, you must use a factory filter so that the Cera Tec can pass through the filter and circulate throughout the engine. Now I use a factory filter and it works perfectly. I put 150 mL, (half a can) in at every oil change. The Prius has 250K miles and runs very smoothly. ... show more

  • It does reduce lifter noise, and overall engine noise
I previously used the Ceratec on a friend's Honda Cr-V. Before using Ceratec, I wanted to start with a clean slate, so I added Liqui Moly engine flush into the engine, ran the car on idle for 15 min, then drained oil and replaced the filter. The drained oil was super dark, so to make sure I got all the gunk out, again, I refilled the oil with a cheaper oil of the same grade, replaced the filter, let it idle for about ten minutes, and drained it again. This time, although it wasn't as dark as the first flush, you could see the oil wasn't as new as it was when I poured it in10 minutes prior, so I was glad I did the second flush. So now the motor was ready for the good quality fresh oil, new filter and Ceratec. To make sure there was no fall out/accumulation of Ceratec inside engine cavities and passages, I took out enough oil from the new jug, then added the Ceratec inside the jug, turned the jug upside down a few times, this way it would be premixed before being poured into the engine. After running the car for a while, we noticed that, that annoying lifter noise had almost disappeared, it had become very faint, which is a big plus in my book. I will be repeating this same process in my E36 M3, as these engines tend to have lifter and vanos noises as well. I will be updating my review if I don't notice any difference in the M3. ... show more

  • Honda CR-V 40k miles and SLK 70k miles
Update 1: 3K miles on Honda (41K mileage) - its better than the sound without ceratec in it. For a given car, less sound = less wear R171 - over 2000 miles, great mileage boost. Got back to the manufacturer suggested MPG rating of 24 MPG on highway, a boost from around 19MPG with ceratec and fuel injector cleaner together. Update after 500miles on Honda CRV: Not worried about the fuel efficiency, that's not the purpose of buying this. But fuel efficiency is an indicator of less friction and less wear. Definitely getting at least 1MPG higher, so at least that much frictional force is now avoided in the engine components. So, now I expect the Honda CRV 2017, known for oil dilution to last at least 100K miles. (40K now and 60K more to go). So, planning to use this with every oil change but add only 50ml for 4 gallon oil, to be safe. Pending Update on 3L naturally aspired R171. _____ Original Review: I got that notorious Honda CR-V 2017 1.5L Turbo, known for massive dilution with it GDI. Will update the review with results if that's affecting, if there is anyone interested to know (give me a 👍 so I know). I should know once I hit 2000miles, the Engine generally becomes ticky. Let me see how that helps. Fill oil to a min level, then added this, ran engine for few mins, topped up oil to get the level close to Max. For now, as soon as I added this with new oil, of course there is a reduction in noise and less ticking. But I don't know yet if that's due to new oil or Ceratec magic. Will update after I clock 2k miles. On my SLK300, 3L V6 naturally aspired engine, there is no noticeable change. I am expecting to see feedback via 0.5MPG increase, probably I should wait for 500miles at least, from what I read from the manufacturer. The bottles had some dings on them, probably not due to Amazon logistics because the paper cover was intact. No issues though. ... show more

  • I can barely feel the engine idling!
this is another amazing product from Liqui-Moly! I have a 2019 Honda Civic EX with a turbo engine and it has a little engine shake when it's idling. I added this product after an oil change and lo and behold, I can barely feel the engine idling! the car runs so smooth even when the turbo kicks in. I also see an additional 1.5 mpg showing on the avg/mpg screen on the dash which is great. definitely worth the price! ... show more
